Important Importables
Jenni Lada brings us information about all of the groovy new gaming imports from around the world.
Thanks to GameFly, we now know that the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII will be delivered on three discs. Everyone already knew there was no possible way that the game could fit on a single disc, due to the fact that Blu-ray discs are capable of holding far more information, but now Xbox 360 owners have a better idea of how many times they will find themselves swapping discs out of their console.
The information is delivered very simply and in a matter-of-fact manner in the GameFly listing. Right before the main game description begins, a message informs readers that it’s three discs, but counts as one disc if you rent it. PS3 owners won’t have to worry about this issue at all. It’s a one disc game for you.
When you think about it, this news can get you feeling nostalgic. After all, the Final Fantasy VII required three discs, and Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX needed four discs each. You could look at Final Fantasy XIII as bringing back the time-honored tradition of swapping discs to the Final Fantasy series.
It’s no big deal, really. But it is a neat little tidbit of information to have if you’re interesting in picking up Final Fantasy XIII on March 9, 2010 for your Xbox 360.
