It’s every Play-Asia customer’s favorite time of year – time for the annual Lunar New Year Sale! Until February 11, 2010, over 5,000 in-stock items at Play-Asia have been discounted. So if there’s an import game, console, peripheral or toy you’ve been watching and pondering purchasing, now could be the perfect time to pick it up. It’s easy to tell if an item is on sale – there will be a tiger icon on the product page and a note below the price telling you that a limited time offer is available.

And, like usual, the raffle is on again this year. Play-Asia has 30 prizes ready to give away to people who purchase qualifying sale items from the site. (Like I mentioned earlier, look for the tiger on the product page!) Of course, the top prizes are simply wonderful. First prize is the limited edition Final Fantasy XIII PS3 Lightning Bundle. Second prize is a Japanese Wii and two games. Third prize is either a DSi LL and two games or a PSP and two games. Fourth prize is a GP2X Wiz and leather case. Customers can also have a chance of winning one of six $50 store credit vouchers or 20 $20 store credit vouchers.

Don’t be disheartened if the item you want is out of stock when you first check. Just plug in your information at the site and ask to be alerted if Play-Asia restocks. Some of the items will still be available at their lower, Lunar New Year Sale price if they restock before February 11.

Personally, I was a little disappointed this year. It seemed like a lot fewer in-stock items were on sale this year than there were last year. I probably won’t be splurging, unless Fatal Frame 4 (Zero: Gesshoku no Kamen) is restocked and is discounted.
