Okay, so that happened. Even though it’s two months out, that hasn’t stopped anyone from speculating on every detail of the questionably named iPad. Regardless of what anyone thinks, we can all agree that this thing will sell gangbusters upon release.
Though, who really cares? That’s two months away. You want games now, so without any more interruptions here’s this week’s App Store update lead by the notable Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, ESPN Linebacker, Fruit Farm Tycoon and Jane’s Hotel.
Apple App Store gaming update for the week of January 18 through 24, 2009
Skipping the pleasantries, the biggest question this week is what Apple plans to unveil on Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Will it be the fabled Apple tablet? Will it be iPhone OS 4.0? Will it be the ability to purchase iMacs and Macbooks in pretty colors? Only Steve Jobs and company know for sure.
While we wait at least we can depend on Rock Band Lite, Sea Wolves, Hotel Tycoon, and Are you Alright? to keep our minds preoccupied.

This week’s update is a big one with plenty of games to satiate any gamer’s appetite until the onslaught of big name game releases kicks off at the end of this month.
If you haven’t had your fill of zombies yet there’s some Raging Dead for you. If you are looking for something more strategic, you can try Rebirth of Fortune for free. Though maybe you want to kidnap princesses and steal treasure with Horrible Vikings.,,

This week there aren’t too many great gaming apps but you’re probably backed up with all the exciting gaming presents you’ve got to notice. Top picks this week include NBA Hotshots, Black Matter, Robo Rush, and Zombie Attack.

If you need a little help getting into the holiday spirit with three weeks remaining, there are plenty of games on this App Store update to help you with that. For starters we have Amateur Surgeon Christmas Edition, Air Hockey Christmas Edition, and others. Well, the holiday shopping season has officially been kicked into full swing, hopefully you had good luck over the weekend and on Cyber Monday (which is why we’ve pushed this post to Super Tuesday, or whatever you want to call it). But if you didn’t manage to find that special something, no worries as we are beginning to roll out our annual holiday gift guides.
As for your top weekly apps this week we have Square-Enix’s Hills and Rivers Remain leading the charge with The Escapee trying to hide from the Grinchmas’s snowball assault, and finally a Dragon Sword RPG not to be confused with Bioware’s Dragon Age: Origins. There are also plenty of Christmas-themed games to get you into the holiday cheer as well!

It’s hard to believe it but it’s true – this is Thanksgiving week here in North America and with it comes the biggest and sometimes most brutal shopping day of the year: Black Friday. Odds are, if you are going to brave the frothing consumer hordes this Friday, you are going to be lining up early and thus, need something to help pass the time. We’ve got just the thing for you right here with this week’s App Store releases. This week’s most notable include Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader 2010, Spooky Spirit, Ninja Assassin, and Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies.
