Important Importables
Jenni Lada brings us information about all of the groovy new gaming imports from around the world.
It seems the public has not yet gotten their fill of military games this year. Modern Warfare 2 is still going strong and other titles such as Splinter Cell: Conviction and Medal of Honor will keep us occupied for the next few months. There is a very real chance of these titles blending in with each other. Sales figures for each game could also suffer from a market that is stretched too thin. This is why Ubisoft decided to hold off on releasing Ghost Recon: Future Soldier in 2010.
In a conference call held by Ubisoft today (May 18, 2010) the company decided to delay the release of Future Soldier until 2011. An exact date was not revealed, but we can expect it to be available before April 2010.
Ubisoft’s decision to back out resulted from a “very competitive environment,” during Future Soldier’s initial release date. We’re willing to bet Ubisoft simply did not want to compete with Call of Duty: Black Ops during the holiday season.
Ubisoft also revealed a time and date for its E3 2010 media briefing. Let’s hope it’s more exciting than last years presentation. In fact I think anything will be better than last years presentation.
