Important Importables
Jenni Lada brings us information about all of the groovy new gaming imports from around the world.
Sony’s apparently trying to get more people buying the PSPgo. There’s a new promotion going on for people who buy a PSPgo and live in the US or Canada, and it involves free games. If you buy a PSPgo before March 21, 2010, you can download a free copy of either Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines or LittleBigPlanet.
The code doesn’t come with the PSPgo unit, which still costs $249.99. After you buy a PSPgo, you then create a PlayStation Network account with it and log in or, if you already have an account, log in to it using your new PSPgo. You’ll then get an email containing a code that you can use to get Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines or LittleBigPlanet. Once you get a code, be sure to use it before March 31, 2010 or else it’ll expire! That seems like an extraordinarily short redemption window.
Unfortunately, if you already own a PSPgo or bought a PSPgo before this new deal took effect on February 18, 2010, you aren’t eligible for a free game. You’re stuck paying $39.99 for the games.
Again, I’ve got to say that this deal seems just too short. At least extend the deadlines and make it last a couple months. It only lasts about a month! Plus, it seems like it’s too little, too late. Sony should have had a promotion like this going on when the PSPgo was first released.
