Be the hero in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem – Hero of Light and Shadow
The website for the newest DS Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo Hikari to Kage no Eiyuu/Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem – Hero of Light and Shadow, is now officially open and full of good news about the game. As expected, it’s a port of the SNES game Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo/Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem. Unexpectedly, the story is going to experience some slight changes due to the addition of a new character – you. Yes, for the first time in a Fire Emblem game, players will be able to be the hero (or heroine) and create a custom character to take part in the crusade against evil.
Players get to experience two stories in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem DS as their new character, a main prologue story and an unlockable side story. As for your character, he/she is an Altean warrior who wants to fight under Marth as a member of the Altea Knights. You get to customize everything about him/her, including facial features, class and gender. It seems like conversations might be returning for this entry, since the site states that your character’s specifics have an effect on how other characters from the game react to you.
Also, the multiplayer from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon looks like it is resurfacing for Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem DS. There’ll be local and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection multiplayer options again.
It turns out, Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem DS is also going to be released in Japan on July 15, 2010. Perhaps we’ll get to see some footage, maybe even a playable demo, at E3 2010. The timing is practically perfect. I bet we’ll even see Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem DS by Q4 2010.

Well, that’s about as great as news on a DS Fire Emblem game can be. Much more excited about this now.
Of course, a character based on myself would likely be as boring as the characters in Shadow Dragon.
