Collect bailout cash in iBailout for iPhone, iPod Touch

by Brian Allen on Feb 8, 2010 at 05:41 PM

Marroni Electronic Entertainment and NightIrion are taking a humorous look at the current United States economic issues with iBailout, a Pac-Man like game on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Players run around the screen and try to eat up as much of the government’s bailout cash as possible. Instead of ghosts, angry mobs of US taxpayers chase players around the board.

To counter the angry taxpayers, players can run over machine guns to declare martial law and make taxpayers harmless. Since we’re dealing with big money government bailouts, your score is calculated in trillions. The game is available for $1.99 in the iTunes store.

Due to its political nature, the game has received the kind of media coverage typically only garnered by Grand Theft Auto games.

For example, CNN and the Wall Street Journal  have both reported on iBailout. The game also includes quotes from anti-big government politicians including Ron Paul.

If you’re in the mood for a little bit of protest in your iPhone app, iBailout may be the game for you.
