Chris Chike has obliterated his own Guitar Hero record. You know, the one they just published in that Guinness Book of World Records for video games? Maybe they’ll release booster packs so you can rip out the offending pages and replace them with fresh greatness.
Chike put down a 100 percent on the punishing “Through the Fire and the Flames” song by speed metal legends DragonForce. (Say it like you mean it: DrrrrragonFORCE). And it’s a heck of an 8 minute ride. Chike’s face is off camera for the shoot, but you can imagine his eyes blinking in fits of ecstasy as he leaps from one impossible fret-spanning feat to the next.
The attempt has picked up around 1.6 million YouTube views in the month it’s been up, even though it is clearly NSFW. Seriously, after the deed is done, he starts swearing like he’s on a robotrip. I guess that’s probably what that feels like.
DragonForce’s torturous Guitar Hero III coup de grĂ¢ce once netted Chike 840,647, but this run puts him at 987,786 (an 18 percent improvement!). “It feels great to have accomplished it, and it is exciting to see so many people online watching me get a perfect score on the hardest song in the game,” Chike said in a news release.
