- RE: Gadgetell Review: Kodak Zi8 pocket camcorder [Gadgetell]@CF - we're contacting Kodak about the image stabilization. Thanks for pointing that out.
- I can also say that there's an issue with the Mac component -- it can also run Windows. Including it would cause the chart to become a bit too complex.
- MS Office on the web with support for browsers that aren't IE? That's a big deal. That means for the first time Microsoft's Office suite is accessible to Linux users without hacks or emulators or virtualization.
- Maybe I'll go after some public domain stuff on P2P or something. Porn has been suggested and we'll see how that goes.
- I agree with you Mehul. The real question is what kind of discount will be on those textbooks. Also, I wonder how easy it will be to find information on a Kindle DX when compared to a textbook on open book exams.
- RE: Online video war: Joost vs. Hulu vs. Sling [Gadgetell]I haven't used TV.com in quite a while. I'll take a look at it.
- RE: Skype releases its audio codec for free [Gadgetell]That's a great question. Here's are my guesses (and these are only guesses). I imagine that if Skype opens up, that more and more people will use their standard allowing for interoperability between products. Perhaps companies will make their own VoIP products (like software and hardware) with the codec. Right now, to voice chat using Skype, you've got to use Skype to Skype (or phones). Maybe this will allow Skype to call GTalk or MSN voice chat users in the future?
- RE: Video: Playing with the Kindle 2 [Gadgetell]I liked the new one. The design is sleek and the unit is very responsive. $359 might be asking too much for it unless you read a lot. If they crossed this with the Peek, I think it might be worth it.
- RE: Is 3D video all that it's cracked up to be? [Gadgetell]Kidney punches just enhance the 3D experience. I still want to see the SuperBowl in 3D. Although I hope the ticket comes with some stuff for the post-3D headache I'm almost guaranteed to have.
- I'm curious about your question, rorroman. Do you want to be able to run OS X and then run a VM in that OS?
- RE: HP Magic Giveaway Winner: Check your e-mail [Gadgetell]Honestly can't say because of the e-mail address. Once the winner contacts us back, we'll let you know.
- RE: Last day to enter the HP Magic Giveaway! [Gadgetell]Just a quick note: You do not need to write a comment to be in the contest, it is just a suggestion. To be in the contest, just register. Sorry for the confusion.
- yvsmadhav -- you've entered by registering. Good luck!
- RE: You can win this HP Mini 1035NR! [Gadgetell]Corrine, congrats to you and thanks for being honest!
- RE: You can win this HP Mini 1035NR! [Gadgetell]Courtenay27 -- Just wanted to let you know that this is PART of the HP Magic Giveaway. We'll be spotlighting what you can win on Gadgetell every day until there's a winner.
- RE: Enter to win over $6000+ worth of HP gear! [Gadgetell]Lena, those who are already registered are eligible to win. You just got a head start!
- Contest is now open. Check out http://www.gadgetell.com/tech/comment/enter-to-win-over-6000-worth-of-hp-gear1/
- Hold on, folks. We'll have more details soon, I promise!
- RE: Waiting on the Gibson Dark Fire [Gadgetell]Thanks, Connor. You are completely correct. The version of Ableton Live is officially called "Ableton Live 7 Gibson Studio Edition" and is not the full version. Still is a cool package.
- RE: Who's On Crack in tech: 11.21.08 edition [Gadgetell]Of course, I had to respond to this post. The reason I like a touchscreen (and what HP is doing) is because I tend to have lots of windows open and visible on the screen when I use any computer. Instead of alt-tabbing my way around the interface, I would rather just tap the screen. That being said, the two demos were worlds apart. One demo went incredibly well and the other showed off Murphy's Law. I think it's a version 1.0 product.
- RE: T-Mobile G1: It can't play video? [Gadgetell]At the time of the announcement, the G1 did not have a video player. I got the information straight from a Google rep.
- RE: Google Android app: Seismograph [Gadgetell]That's in interesting idea. I don't know if there is any social aspect to the app right now, but I don't see why it couldn't be added.
- Jeff and everyone else, I'm glad S&T;still has a function. I may have to give it another chance!
- RE: Dell's 23-inch 1080p LCD monitor [Gadgetell]Jeff, I don't think the phish code has any meaning. Hope it didn't spook you :)
- Khurt - I kind of got that feeling when I spoke to 2/3 of the T-Mobile guys. Since they are the PR guys and not necessarily the technology guys, they might not have been aware of the solutions at the announcement. I would imagine that Google will prep the T-Mobile folks more and more before the official launch in Ocotober. Let's see how this goes.
- Since this is the first Android phone, there was no mention of different hardware causing issues yet. I get you -- how exactly can an Android application take advantage of all kinds of different hardware? Maybe not all applications will run on all phones. It very much is a computer that is a phone. Not all apps can run on every computer, either.
- RE: Ugly no more on Facebook with this download [Gadgetell]Richard, Here's McCain retouched. Enjoy!
- Question for movie fan. Google Chrome is built on Webkit. Is Safari for Windows equally as unstable on your machine? That's an actual question (not meant to be a snarky comment).
- RE: Cucku: Social Backup - Are they serious? [Gadgetell]Sorry about the "Faultline Communications" part. The reference has been removed for accuracy.
- Curtis, It depends on whether the Blu-Ray player has the right firmware. It looks like the PS3 (with the latest firmware) ought to play BD-Rs. Hope that helps.
