| Bio: | I was born on the heels of Apple’s Think Different campaign in the heart of Jersey. Since then my entire life has revolved around technology. I sought out every single gadget and gizmo I could get my hands on. Past experiences/hobbies have included owning and operating a mobile DJ company, being a swim coach, and of course the computer fix-it guy for my friends and family ... and their friends. Additionally, I have spent time with: a top Japanese electronics company on a product development team, at a SoHo, based advertising firm, a tech magazine, and marketing male targeted personal care brands—amongst other things here and there. While I never envisioned being a writer, that is what you call this, right? I do love innovation, technology, and toys; this is just the best way to explore the great frontier. Oh, and if you can believe it, Doug and I aren’t even related. |

- RE: Apple blows it on October 14th [Appletell]I agree with Kirk.I think we will see the line align come Macworld with the MB Air going to 'brick' with the glass display as well as the 17" Pro. I agree matt screens are nice but it seems that they are out. I also expect the long awaiting Mac mini update (alignment into the Apple TV) will also come at Macworld.
- Actually my bigger question is, how will Sony save the PSP? It seems like a no brainier to give it s 32 or 64GB SSD and add a camera. Touchscreen would be a stretch but seems like the only other addition.
- i would agree that sony will do a refresh in 2-3 years but just continue to expand software capabilities, maybe add back some features that were pulled out (multi-video out, 7 controllers, etc), increase HD space to 500GB or so, and thin it out.
- Some great tips here!
- RE: Appletell review - iPhone 3G case round-up [Appletell]When I used a hard case with my original iPhone the dust that settled inside ended up scratching the silver bezel around the phone. Given that I am not chancing another hard case with my new 3G -- I love the suede jacket from Waterfield Design http://www.sfbags.com/products/iphonesuedejacket/iphonesuedejacket.htm
- I love my DiNovo Keyboard, and this seems to just get better...but do I see a cord on that image? Who uses corded keyboards anymore?
- RE: Goodbye, Tris, we miss you already [Update] [Appletell]As of right now mine still works on my iPhone. You have to imagine that the folks who make Tetris will be following up with a version soon enough (or this kid can just use difference shapes)...
- RE: Gadgetell's "Who's on Crack" game [Gadgetell]As always, love it!
- I crashed a good amount before but now it is every time I click something.
- RE: Live Blog: Sony's E3 2008 press conference [Gamertell]I think KH3 is certainly a go
- RE: Live Blog: Sony's E3 2008 press conference [Gamertell]I doubt there will be a 'fit' based game coming through.
- Wow, someone must be a bit frustrated by Apple. I suggest talking to someone about the bottled up anger.
- RE: coolest thing I've seen today: FogScreen [Gadgetell]'Tis is very cool
- @sfmitch, I know it is a specialty product but remember that it is designed for road-warriors. The two key requirements for a road-warrior (IMHO) are weight and battery life. Clearly the MBA succeeds in the weight department. Not only that but the design is flawless, with little sacrifices, who really needs a DVD/CD drive 100% of the time (or ever). My major issue and deal breaker is the lack of a replaceable battery. I am not talking about when the battery dies, but on a regular basis. The battery life is better than most notebooks, but wouldn't it be great to be able to double or triple that with additional batteries? I would. Until then I am content with my machine (with 1 3.5 hour battery and 2 5 hour batteries).
- RE: The digital answer to "the sky" [Gadgetell]This is very cool, I won't be surprised if this is in some upscale hotel rooms soon. The night sky will look rather sweet on these.
- It is a bit crazy that they are settling to charging for a dock as opposed to including it. I agree that I rarely use my iPhone 2G dock, but come on, just charge more for the phone -- don't nickel and dime people.
- I am a Sony fanboy but am not diehard on SE phones. Until I get the X1 in my hands I will follow-up your recommendation.
- I have a Shure version, with a mic and it works great as well: http://store.shure.com/store/shure/en_US/DisplayProductDetailsPage/productID.105498400
- Did they give you one to bring back to Gadgetell HQ's?
- I'm going to have to disagree. I am really liking Viva la Vida, and on Guitar Hero it would be even better. What would be great is some Lenny Kravitz.
- I'm not worried about missing video, but 2MP is crap, at least make it 3 or 4.
- RE: "push" sync for files is here: SugarSync [Gadgetell]Don't forget MobileMe: www.appletell.com/apple/tag/mobileme
- RE: WWDC Keynote live blog [Gadgetell]So much for 2 bridges on the flier...only one track keynote--iPhone
- RE: WWDC Keynote live blog [Gadgetell]I would be psyched for a 13" MBP, but I think that is a stretch for this WWDC
- Kodak and Motorola seems like the perfect fit to me. Makes as much sense at Apple and Nike -- let's just hope they deliver some great products.
- I would agree, not the iPhone 2
- RE: iPhone subsidy rumors false, 4 reasons why [Gadgetell]There has to be a way that iPhone 1.0 customers can upgrade to the 2.0 version, because I expect many of the die-hards to do that. Restarting a nw two year contract would suck, but I can imagine ATT and Apple forcing you to do that.
- I am super excited for this. Think we can load it onto iPhone software 2.0?
- RE: Dabbledoo - Site Log-in to see stats [Internal Blog]Note that this only works when the site category is in the URL... Gamertell.com/gaming/ Appletell.com/apple/ Gadgetell.com/tech this does not work without the ending keyword sorry for the inconvenience
- Thanks for the comment Nich, enjoy reading.
- You can use Remember The Milk for to-do's. It is still a bit clumsy but it works. It has Gmail, Google Calendar, and iGoogle integration. I could not agree more with the rest of the points and would like to add two more: 1. Formatting... Copying and pasting text into and out of Gmail is a pain. The formatting either doesn't clear when I copy in, and the toolbar hardly lets me re-format it & when copying out into lets say, Word, the formatting doesn't retain either. 2. Signatures... Why would I want my signature to pile up thread after thread at the bottom of my conversation instead of inline with each email? Yup I can use BetterGmail but 1. I shouldn't have to and 2. the feature does not work with Gmail 2 yet.
- I would expect to see both on the iPhone 2. Jobs has basically said that he would be releasing a whole line of Touch based products -- one of which seems to be directed toward eReaders, and I expect that they would add functionality to the iPhone as well.
- The problem with this is that with the smart type keypad, as you type it increases and decreases the sensor area the letters than can form known dictionary words. With this cover I imagine that the smart keyboard would become less effective with predictive text.
- RE: Mac mini to get upgrade soon? [Appletell]I imagine that the long range plan for the Mac Mini is that it and the Apple TV will converge to become one living-room multi-media computer with large hard drive (DVR), HD out, wireless, the Apple Remote, and more. Just my speculation...
- The A829 just arrived in the email. I am really enjoying it. There are so many options (surround, equalizers, etc) that just don't come on my iPod. And though I am afraid that I will loose the Walkman by note being tethered to my earphones, it is great to cut the cord. More of a review to come...
- RE: Insight into the Apple design process [Appletell]This is very cool. I wonder what the Microsoft design strategy is, or do they not even have one?
- RE: Celrun, a strong alternative to Apple TV [Gadgetell]Tom B, reading your comment on Jaxim's comment made me almost blow coffee out of my nose -- nice.
- RE: Nextel iDen music phone [Gadgetell]Silvia, what's the problem? Your best bet is probably to call Sprint, Motorola or Nextel.
- Paul, thanks for the clarification.
- RE: April Fools: Apple Corp. to buy Sony [Gadgetell]I hate when Bloomberg covers our story without sourcing us :)
