| Bio: | When I was a baby, my parents owned an Intellivision. When I was old enough to sit up on my own, my dad would give me the controller to play with, and I suppose that’s where my love for video games all began. I went to college, graduated, got my B.A. and now I’m here. I wrote for my college newspaper and CAD Media. I’ve also contributed pieces to Cerise Magazine and Ripten. - @ Dorchee - Don't ignore him. If you do, you'll possibly miss his moving convo. Every time you see Rasher, push him. Push him all around until he gets mad at you. If he asks you for favors, always turn him down. I hope that works, it's always helped make characters I didn't like move.
- @ AboutHim: You probably need to see one of his heart events. Check online for the guy you're looking for's event locations and times. Once you see the special scenes, his heart level should go up.
- I think the Black Sigil issue may not effect all carts. I have the actual game (a review is forthcoming). I've been playing it for weeks straight, have over 30 hours logged and haven't encountered one glitch. The only time I did encounter Black Sigil glitches is when I put in an action replay code to eliminate the random battles. Then the bottom screen graphics got a bit fuzzy at times.
- I like the game, and I'm glad that it is appearing on a console outside of Japan rather than being a cell phone exclusive, but I too can't help thinking that a disc would be a better medium for the game. :D Perhaps a $29.99 disc.
- Thanks. :D That's exactly how I felt when I heard about both Project Natal and the PS3 motion controls. I think other people will do exactly what you're doing with Wii Fit Plus - if they don't already have it, they'll get it. If they do, they'll just pass it by.
- RE: Hidden gems of E3 2009 [Gamertell]A Boy and his Blob and Prank Your Neighbor both sound really cool?
- Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy the reviews. I agree with you as well. If I wasn't reviewing the game (and Rydia's DLC), I'd have bought them all at once when it all came out. Personally, I'll likely splurge on all of the DLC add-on stories, mainly because I don't want to miss anything. It really does feel inconsistant, playing bits and pieces at once. I've noticed that too. For some reason, I saw the fourth Star Ocean as almost being more about the graphics than the story. (I still wish I could play it though!) I sort of admire Namco's Tales of series, because it seems fairly consistant, graphics wise. It isn't all about flash. The DS versions of Tales of Hearts kind of proved that, since the company offered a version with animated cutscenes and one with CG cutscenes. If I remember right, the animated cutscenes, similar to the classic Tales of games, was the bigger seller. I totally wish this and My Life as a King was on a CD. I went for My Life as a King anyways, but I'd have loved it more on a CD. I'm a little disappointed in the Square Enix tax that never seems to fade away. Know what I'd love to see? Nameless Game or Sigma Harmonics NA releases. Square Enix has some interesting new properties, and it'd be great to see those get a worldwide release.
- Very true. You'd think the Vitality Sensor is something to test blood sugar or something. Perhaps it'll be used with the Wii Fit Plus i? I'm not so sure the PSP Go is what it should the PSP should have been originally. I know Wi-Fi and internet is widely accessible where I live and such, but I have friends who live in areas where it isn't accessible or affordable for them. If it were within $40 of the original PSP price, I don't think it'd be as much of an issue. Very true. I didn't call out Microsoft and Nintendo because their announcements had a bit more substance to them other than, "Here's a logo! You'll see it in 2010!" I totally agree with you! Too much motion control can hurt a quality game title. Sometimes I have trouble playing Twilight Princess because of the motion control. It'd be good to see games encorporate standard control schemes as well. It can be a bit daunting, with all the announcements at once. I like how some companies like Atlus, Xseed and such released preliminary announcements summarizing the games they'd be bringing to E3 the week before. It felt like it lightened the load and helped build up suspense.
- @ Sythlia: You're right, a disc with both games would be awesome. I too am considering Little King from Xseed since it sounds like the same thing, only minus extravagant add-ons. @oliemoon: I totally know what you mean about FFIV: The After Years. I went for the first two parts, but I'm thinking the only other part I'll get is Edge's and the final chapter. Of course, it was probably more expensive when originally released on cell phones, but still. I may also go for Palom or Porom's tales. I'm not sure. Maybe I'll collapse and get them all. >.<
- @ Janine: I'm so jealous! It sounds like you had so much fun playing the game! @ James: You should check out Opoona and Fire Emblem. :D Plus Phantom Brave's coming soon.
- Somehow, I can't help feeling like Microsoft and Sony have just realized that motion control works really well, and decided that they want to get in it.
- I know, right? And supposedly they patented names relating to that card battler DS game that was also on the list. The name elludes me atm though.
- RE: Important Importables: bit Generations [Gamertell]Love the descriptions! I haven't found any of them, sadly. So I'm hoping they get Wii/DS remakes/ports. So far, Nintendo's doing a good job of that.
- RE: E3 2009: Natsume to go Harvest Moon crazy [Gamertell]Hi Emery, Animal March for the Wii's there. It's going to be called Animal Parade. As for Winds Bazaar, no sign of it yet. I'm sure it'll receive a US release though. We'll just probably have to wait until 2010.
- @ all: I completely forgot about the Metroid games. The only Metroid I played was the original NES one, so I actually never knew about (or paid attention to) the GBA ones. You're all definitely right, it deserved a position in the article as well.
- Who'd have thought, right? That's true, that the licensing issue was also a big factor. But, if you look up the Tatsunoko series, not a lot of them have appeared or been licensed in the US. I'm sure you're right, that licensing will create a roster shift on the Tatsunoko side.
- @ Estefany - There's really no chance of the Vampire Knight DS game being released in the US, sadly. So far, no video game publisher seems to want to take a chance on an otome game localization.
- RE: 5 Spirited Heart secrets to success [Gamertell]So far I had her marry Thofte, Yuza and Janimee. Somehow I missed Frebo! He said he had to go to the front lines (my character was like... 26 then) and then I never saw him again!
- @ unknown: I don't know if it works with Macs, since I've been playing it on a PC. I'm guessing that it, like pretty much all free to play online MMOs, will be Windows only.
- @ Janie: Walk around is something he may just do on his own, after learning sit, when you're in the backyard with him. Just keep an eye on him when you're zoomed in on him, and be ready to click once you see Walk Around and the trick icon appear. @Zack: Take the dog to the bathroom, and then click on the tub. Then you should start washing him.
- RE: One year of WiiWare [Gamertell]I really think Nintendo should have done something special for Wii owners to celebrate. Perhaps a discount of some sorts on some of the most popular titles. And don't forget LIT and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King under awesome games. :D Not to mention Tetris.
- Sadly Keira_Matsura, it does not. If you can find and print out a Japanese guide, you should be able to make it through a playthrough of the game.
- @ SSS: I heard that, despite some of the members of Wolfmother leaving, that the remaining members were going to be rebuilding the group and continuing. I could be wrong though. Rock Band is looking more and more appealing to me lately. :D
- Thanks Paulina. I actually did put up one story here, giving step by step instructions for creating Chie's outfit from Persona 4 in AC:CF. Perhaps I'll see about taking some screenshots of the grids and have a few stories detailing how to make Yuffie's outfit, Yuna's kimono and a few other custom outfits I've done. :D
- @Paulina: The outfit in the first photo is the sailor shirt. The outfit in the second photo is one I custom-made at Able Sisters - It's Yuffie from FFVII's outfit.
- Maybe try downloading a browser add-on or two as well? Some instant messaging programs might be a good idea as well.
- Oh! You're near the beginning then! Take the elevator down as far as it'll go, till you're in the basement floor. The basement floor will have 4 areas you can go to, the orange exit, the blue shopping district, the yellow licensing center and the... um... I think the unmarked dorm/academy area. You probably have five rogue eggs with you right now. You need to go to the chemistry lab next to the student dorms and deliver the eggs to a little kid standing near some machines. Once you're in the basement, act like you're going to the orange exit. Right before the orange exit area, there's an elevator. Take that up to the... I want to say 3rd floor, but it may just be the second floor. Anyways, take it up until you reach a floor with a big circle in the center and stairs to a cafeteria. I'm pretty sure its the top floor. Then look along the walls for signs with either beds or a bubbling flask. When you find the bubbling flask room, enter and deliver the eggs. The boy's kinda hard to see next to all the equipment, but he's there. (I had to rotate the camera twice to find him. He's sneaky.)
- @ Jessi: Next time we hang out, I'll help! I'm at the Artelia dome. What dome are you at? @ Keranu: I forgot about the dictionary. There's just so much there... The only thing I'd change is the selection in the OMP portable shop - maybe have there always be a healing item in there.
- @Jessi: I had the Game Boy version of Azure Dreams a long time ago, but never the PS version. Also never had Breath of Fire III, though I've contemplated getting the European PSP version. (I've also considered getting the Tales of Eternia European PSP game.)
- I never got to play Saga Frontier. I've heard wonderful things though!
- I totally agree. The TV shows to watch, the secret codes to find on the walls, the art collection... it's staggering. I'm looking forward to it keeping me busy for a long time.
- @ Oliemoon: It has the same kind of delightful quirkiness. I especially like all the jobs Opoona can take and master. I don't think I've ever played a game where at one point I had to serve fast food or be a hotel valet.
- @Oliemoon: I would too... if I didn't already own most of them. :D
- @ Andre: You pretty much have to cheat or follow the tricks I offered above. @ cuteplushie: Not so in the AC:CF road. When it "snows", all green turns to white snow. Then when spring comes, all white snow areas turn green. So the grass doesn't go away just because of snow.
- @ Keranu: It really is an awesome game, and people searching for RPGs should really check it out. @Jessi: I was going to recommend it to you actually! XD It's so cute! I like the jobs where you don't actually have to beat stuff up. Its so cute.
- I didn't really think Roxis was all that bad. The Vice Principal's voice annoyed me though. Nikki's did a bit as well. And I have a feeling that blobby character that I haven't recruited yet will too. I'm glad I went for the PS2 version as well. Cheaper and it sounds like better executed as well.
- @ Yuuki - That's a neat cheat! @ Brittanie - Nope, only in Japanese. It's also out of print, so you may have a very difficult time finding a copy of it. It's fairly easy to play without knowing Japanese though, especially if you find a guide online that also includes the green words you need to write in using the touch screen. @ Yukino - Just head to Datel's Japanese site and you'll be all set: http://www.datel-japan.co.jp/mobile/code/dscode.php
- A PSOne classic is a PlayStation game available through the PlayStation store that you can download and play on either your PSP or PS3. Neat, huh? I'm debating getting the Rhapsody sequel, as it's available for a pretty reasonable price on the Asia PlayStation Store (which is what my PSP is connected to).
- Very true. Another good question is will it even be accepted? Based on the brewing rumors, it's essentially the exact same PSP, no upgrades, just with no UMD drive and more play time. I'd never go for it, simply because of the region protection it will end up imposing on the system.
- I haven't had too much trouble with WiFi. If there's only one other person that is. If there are three or four real people playing, then there's lag like you wouldn't believe. For a second I thought something was wrong with my DS controls when I played a four player quest. I would think, "I KNOW I don't suck THIS much!" because it'd seem like I couldn't hit the other players off of the platform. Then I was happy when I realized it wasn't me. :D
