There’s a large assortment of downloadable games available today for Wii and DSi owners. There are three new WiiWare games, two Virtual Console classics and three DSiWare games. Not too bad. Most of the games released seem geared towards younger gamers though. All three WiiWare games, “Aha! I Got It!”… Continue Reading »

Nintendo recompenses Wii Internet Channel buyers with free NES games

by Jenni Lada on Oct 21, 2009 at 02:10 PM

Back on September 1, 2009, Nintendo made a benevolent announcement. All Wii owners would henceforth be able to download the Internet Channel, which was previously $5/500 Wii Points, for free. It was a wonderful announcement, and all the people who didn’t feel like paying $5 for an internet browser, myself… Continue Reading »

Nintendo Downloads for September 14, 2009

by Danielle Riendeau on Sep 14, 2009 at 10:23 PM

It’s a particularly retro-fantastic week on Nintendo’s downloadable game services, with more toy-based titles and neon colors than you can shake an arcade joystick at. Since Nintendo opted not to put out its usual press release (usually with some inane attempt to eke out a “theme” from a disparate collection… Continue Reading »

I know we’ve taken a bit of a hiatus on the Nintendo Download front, but fear not - we’re back and better than ever. Especially because today, one of the coolest, most badass (in the dorkiest way) games for the SNES came out. Yeah, I’m talking about Super Empire Strikes… Continue Reading »

Nintendo Downloads for July 13, 2009

by Danielle Riendeau on Jul 13, 2009 at 01:15 PM

After a few rather anemic updates, this week’s Nintendo downloadable games are robust, meaty and… extremely eclectic. We’re looking at plenty of action titles (not the least of which is the Genesis’ Secret Command) and Konami’s own awesome-looking Ant Nation. If you’re into “Brain games”, DSiWare’s got Brain Challenge for… Continue Reading »

Nintendo Downloads for May 11, 2009

by Danielle Riendeau on May 11, 2009 at 01:51 PM

What do soccer, pirates and Galaxy Force have in common? Absolutely nothing, save for their appearances on this week’s Nintendo downloadable game services. Yeah, there are sometimes I wish Ninty would have some sort of theme or order, but I suppose that would just be no fun. In any event,… Continue Reading »

We’ve now learned it won’t be alone. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King’s sequel,… Continue Reading »
