A little more about Call Of Duty: World At War

After its trip into modern warfare, the Call of Duty franchise is returning to the World War II time frame. The big difference is that it will be focusing on a new front in the war to end all wars. Call of Duty: World at War will be focusing on the Pacific theater as you island hop your way to victory or death.

Details on this new CoD release are sparse but from the information coming out, there is really not that much that innovates in terms of the war/shooter experience. It’s not developed by Infinity Ward, the company behind CoD2/CoD4. It’s developed by Treyarch, the developers of CoD3 and will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii.

Call of Duty going back to WWII with World at War

After ten million units sold in just seven months after the November, 2007 release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Activision is hoping that gamers are ready to strap their combat boots back on and return once again to the theater of war, but which theaters? Well apparently, World War Two hasn’t quite been won yet.

Call of Duty: World at War will return the franchise back to the Second World War roots, but this time we’ll get to jump from the Atlantic theater and take the fight to the Japanese on the Pacific side of the war.

Rumor: Possible Call of Duty MMO

call of duty mmoComing out of left field, rumor has surfaced about a possible Call of Duty MMO. 

IGN reports that, while speaking to a group of investment analysts yesterday (February 4 2008) at the 008 Morgan Stanley Technology Conference, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick commented that his company might be considering turning its Call of Duty series into a massively multiplayer online game. Whether or not this statement has any truth to it, or is just Kotick thinking out loud, certainly shows that Activision, who last year joined in a partnership with Blizzard, sees that a MMO could be the next…
