Expand your Spore creatures’ appearance options with Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack
If you pass by the PC section while visiting your local game store this weekend, you may see a new addition to the Spore family sitting on the shelf. The $19.99 Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack is now available in stores and ready to make your Spore or Spore Creature Creator creations even cuter or creepier.
The Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack does contain some nice extras. For example, there are exactly 108 new creation options - 60 new creepy and cute parts that can be added onto a creature to make them more endearing or terrifying and 48 new paint options so you have more control over the shades and color schemes for your characters. The expansion also comes with 24 extra animations, so your characters will be able to move in new ways. None of these extras are “essential,“ but if you’re starting to get tired of the game, it might help rejuvenate your interest…
Second Spore patch released for PCs

Like all EA games, Spore is no stranger to patches to improve and fix gameplay. They’re a fact of life, really. The latest patch, v1.02, has just been released for PCs, with a Mac version promised in the near future. This latest patch addresses a lot of issues, with a focus on making it easier to delete and ban creations you don’t want in your game and also fixing Space Phase issues. The “Bad Baby” achievement has also been removed.
The exact fixes and alterations, taken directly from the press release, are as follows…
Spore continues to evolve with expansion pack, downloadable content

Both the Mac and Windows PC versions of Spore will receive an official expansion pack focused on enchaining and expanding the game’s Space stage next spring (2009), Electronic Arts revealed in a press release issued earlier this week (October 13, 2008).
Additional content will also arrive before the end of this year in the form of the Creepy & Cute Parts Pack, which is scheduled to launch worldwide on November 18, 2008. Pricing details have yet to be confirmed, but consumers can expected to find…
EA might allow Spore to create more than virtual life forms
With today’s technology getting better each year, its no wonder that games like Spore developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts, can wow players and developers alike. In an article posted in the Rocky Mountain News, if EA so chooses, it could license out Spore technology to other interested developers as an “engine…“
Spore fans react to DRM fiasco with creativity
The release of Spore has been one of great fun and perhaps even greater frustration. The game itself has been getting favorable reviews from many outlets largely due to its robust creation tools and emphasis on indirect community interaction. Ironically enough, EA has come under fire due to Spore‘s digital rights management (DRM) system.
The Spore community has responded the only way they know how- by creating anti-DRM creatures in Spore. This community may be comprised of the same individuals that helped give Spore one of the lowest ratings on Amazon ever. We’ve seen a certain game company buckle under pressure from unhappy consumers before with the cancellation of Battlefield: Bad Company‘s pay-for-weapons program and Mass Effect‘s ten day authentication requirement. Ironic that all these games were published by EA…
Spore pre-order, pre-load now available for PC, Mac

The days are counting down to the September 5, 2008m European release of Spore with the North American release just a couple days later. If the Spore Creature Creator is any indication, we can expect Spore to be flying off store shelves the minute the doors open.
That’s probably why it’s a good idea to go ahead and pre-order the PC version right now straight from EA. You can also pre-order the Mac version of the game…

Some Atheists cranky about Spore’s religion creation feature

Will Wright’s latest project Spore puts players in control of their own destiny by controlling a lot of the aspects that help make up life. Starting as a single-cell organism, your choices help determine the type of creature you will become. From there it’s a matter of building up a civilization which include traditions, customs and religion.
Wright had a feeling that the religion creation mechanic in Spore might stir up some controversy from various religious groups but ironically enough, it was a segment of Atheists that had a problem with it…
Spore leads to ‘Sporn’
The Spore Creature Creator was released by EA June 17, 2008. It was designed to be a program that anyone could use to create friendly Spore characters so when Spore finally launched in September 2008, they would have creatures to import in.
However, the internet can be a seedy place, and soon some extremely friendly creatures were made with Spore Creature Creator. These creations, dubbed “Sporn,“ are Spore creatures with oversized or extra choice, anatomical bits or who look like they are engaged in various stages of intercourse.
