September 11 videogame a bit disturbing

by Lucy Newman on Jan 7, 2008 at 01:05 PM

Images of twin towers bring back bad memoriesI remember standing in front of the television with my co-workers September 11, 2001, watching in non-belief that such a thing would even happen on American soil.

So when I read the story on Fox News 29 Philadelphia that a new online game called New York Defender II featured images of that day caused an outrage, I can truly understand why. It was the pouring of salt into the wounds of all those who were still shocked by the events of 9/11.

Out of curiosity I found the website, Uzinagaz to check it out for myself. In New York Defender II, you play a small fighter jet patrolling the area and when one airplane changes its route or passes the airport and heads for downtown you shoot it down. Sacred 2: Fallen Angel delayed

by Pulkit Chandna on Dec 28, 2007 at 04:52 PM

Sacred 2

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, the RPG being developed by German developer Ascaron Entertainment, has been delayed by several months. The game, which was expected to be released in the first quarter of 2008, will now be released in September, 2008. It has been announced by the game’s developer that the release of both the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game have been postponed.

The developer broke the news of the game’s delay on the official Sacred 2 website. According to the announcement, the development process had to be extended to meet quality and stability requirements. Ascaron didn’t want to release to release an unpolished version of the game, which would have required a lot of patch work later. It clarified that it wanted to inform gamers much earlier about the delay, but had many reasons not to.

The game is the second full-fledged game in the series, which is set in the fabled continent Ancaria. Sacred, the first game in the series, was released in 2004 and was followed by two expansion packs. It has sold 1.6 million copies to date.
