That was fast. The earlier announcement of the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix “branded experience” that is up as of yesterday (November 19, 2008) on Xbox Live hinted that the game would release on the Xbox Live Arcade on November 26, 2008. We assumed that the PlayStation Network release would follow a day later but not anymore.

In a press release just sent out by Capcom, the company has confirmed that the XBLA version will in fact launch on the November 26, 2008, with the PSN version launching one day prior, marking the game’s release on November 25, 2008, (next Tuesday) instead of the usual PSN release day (next Thursday).

This Thursday’s (November 13, 2008) PlayStation Network update will bring more than just another game or theme, it will bring a whole storefront. The Capcom storefront we previously reported is coming to fruition much sooner than any of us thought.

The storefront promises to bring all of Capcom’s digital content on PSN together in one easy to find and navigate store. Navigation seems to work exactly like it does on the regular PSN store and, sorry guys, no word yet about

When the original Prince of Persia saw release by Jordan Mechner in 1989, it managed to distinguish itself from other platformers at the time due to its real-time nature and punishing difficulty, the latter often frustrating novice players and really separating the men from the boys.

How does Sony say thank you for your awesome productivity and quality of digital downloads? By giving you your own storefront on the Playstation Store.

That’s what Sony has recently granted Capcom, publishers of the highly praised Mega Man 9 and Bionic Commando: Rearmed. The storefront will go online in November 2008 and will catalog all of Capcom’s downloads in the one place.

When Mortal Kombat II was released on the Playstation Network in April 2007, it was met with lukewarm praise from critics. While it was regarded as one of the best opportunities at the time for Mortal Kombat fans to engage each other online, flaws such as problematic execution of its online functionality and game’s emulation prevented it from reaching the zenith of internet-based competitive fighting desired by players.

Sony has released the details on its next firmware updates for PS3 and PSP.

While no release dates were given for the updates, Sony expects both will be released within the month. The updates promise to bring in a slew of conveniences and, of course the big one for Playstation Portable owners, the Wi-Fi store.

While looking for any more information about the Playstation 4 and any goodies coming out soon for my Playstation 3, I came across this blog from the new executive producer of the Playstation Network, Kevin Furuichi, announcing a Halloween-themed episode of Qore available in the Playstation Store this Thursday, October 9, 2008, and this strange looking game interactive site

I just bought a PlayStation 3 console when I read the rumors of a PlayStation 4 coming out soon and all the mind blowing possibilities of the theoretically new console. Well, it happened. PlayStation Portable demos from the Japanese PlayStation Store are now exactly like domestic demos. This means there’s a copyright signature, where you have to sign into the store and download it directly to your PSP or it won’t work.

So you can’t just go to the ever so wonderful and convenient PSP Fanboy demo page and download demos of Prinny: Ore ga Shujinkou de Iinsuka? (aka Prinny: Is it okay if I’m the hero?) or Yggdra Union.
