Portal: Still Alive overflows Xbox Live’s size limit

Microsoft’s official limit for games on Xbox Live Arcade: 350MB. Portal: Still Alive’s actual size: 629MB. The limit breaking (ha!) comes from a report via Joystiq where, as they point out, “the previously announced 350 MB limit has just been kicked in the teeth.“
As of yet, there is no word from Microsoft whether or not the size cap limit will be raised yet again, as it was when Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was placed on the service, or even whether or not there will be a new and bigger…
Valve clarifies Xbox Live’s Portal expansion

Reports last month of additional content to paradigm-busting, platitude-eliciting puzzler Portal were heart-stopping revelations for die-hards Valve fans.
But, according to GameSetWatch, Valve’s Doug Lombardi said the new levels for Portal will be culled from the Portal: The Flash Game map pack. While there’s still plenty of reasons for console players to be happy, there are now a few to get riled up about, too…
Let GLaGPS tell you where to go
Portal fans may remember that GLaDOS dictated directions to the player at all times. GLaDOS was, of course, evil and misleading, but the haunting voice was somewhat mesmerizing. You can now have GLaDOS order you around in your daily life as well, thanks to the GLaGPS created by Ryan VanMiddlesworth. Where GLaDOS stands for Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System, GLaGPS stands for Genetic Lifeform and Global Positioning System.
GLaGPS is a fan project, and not endorsed by Valve, the makers of Portal, but I’m sure they’d find it pretty darn cool. The voice pack only works with the Garmin Nuvi GPS so far, though VanMiddlesworth is also working on a TomTom version.

At this year’s eighth iteration of the ceremony, Valve’s innovative Portal was named the game of the year, with other big winners including Bioshock, Crackdown, Fl0w, Crysis, and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Delicious and moist companion cube cake

Cake is yummy. Cake shaped like a companion cube from Portal is yummy and funny. An Ars Technica forum user by the name of Neko posted a picture today (February 9, 2008) of a most excellent cake. This cake is not a lie, it is moist and it will be served immediately. You wouldn’t even have to take a test first. This is in addition to Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One which are already available as individual titles and Steam, where any part of the Orange Box may be purchased on its own.
