New Wii game from Parappa creators

by Danielle Riendeau on Dec 10, 2007 at 05:17 PM

Parappa
According to a news post over at Game Life, the creative team behind beloved PS1 title Parappa The Rapper is planning to produce a music game on the Wii. Rodney Alan Greenblat and Masaya Matsuura will be teaming up to make a game that will be “designed from the ground up” for the Wii, which will be published by Majesco and released sometime in 2008.

No concrete details have been announced on the nature of the game, so there’s no word on whether it’ll be character based (Like Parappa or Umjammer Lammy) or more abstract like Electroplankton or even Guitar Hero. Actually, it may very well be something entirely new.

Based purely on speculation, this seems like a great idea. The Wii is absolutely made for rhythm/music games, especially ones with simple graphics and intuitive control schemes. If this new title has both (with a nice measure of creativity thrown in) Wii gamers will be in for a treat next year.
