Walmart’s Cyber Monday 2008 video game deals

Wal-Mart’s Cyber Monday deals are now in full effect. There is no shortage of games here at all. Granted a lot of them are titles a lot of us have never heard of before but the list is so expansive you’re bond to find something to pick up. The best deals have to be for Xbox 360 bundles that include Guitar Hero World Tour for $269. The game deals for DS, PS2, Xbox 360, Wii and PSP come in pairs for one price. With the exception of the PSP, you can choose two games for $30. The list in it’s entirety follows…
Amazon’s Thanksgiving weekend, Cyber Monday 2008 game deals
By now we’ve licked our wounds and recovered from the madness that’s known as Black Friday. Even though waiting in long lines in blustery cold weather is over, deals on games are still running strong.
Amazon still has some pretty amazing deals that will last until Monday (December 1, 2008). For example, how would you like to own Far Cry 2 for $17.95 or Infinite Undiscovery for $18.95? Say what you will about some reviews but these games are certainly worth one Andrew Jackson. There are steals like these spread out across all consoles and this list will cover some of the most notable. Most of these games are eligible for free shipping if your total purchase exceeds $25. These bargains won’t be around for much longer so get to it…
Some Columbia Pictures movies return to NXE streams
Thanksgiving weekend salvaged! It looks like whatever was keeping back those Columbia Pictures titles from streaming to our Xbox 360s has somewhat been resolved. It’s a good thing too, I already finished that book I was reading and there’s only so many times I can beat family members in bouts of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. And here the internet was worried…
Xbox 360 worldwide sales exceed original Xbox
Following the console’s third anniversary earlier this week (November 22, 2005 – November 22, 2008) and the launch of a newly revamped interface slash online service called the New Xbox Experience on November 19, 2008, Microsoft has confirmed that global sales figures for the Xbox 360 have exceed those of its predecessor, the Xbox.
Speaking with MCV, Microsoft’s vice president of interactive entertainment business for EMEA, Chris Lewis, explained that more than 25 million Xbox 360 units have been sold worldwide since the Xbox 360’s launch. For comparison, the original Xbox took…
The Guild coming to Xbox Live, sponsored by Microsoft
Just in case you missed its excellent debut season in 2007, The Guild is an online sitcom focused on a group of MMORPG players and the problems that their guild faces both in the (unspecified) game and in the real world. The show won both YouTube’s and Yahoo’s Best Web Series awards for 2007.
After turning down sponsorship offers for more than a year due to incompatible ideas, show creator and star Felicia Day (known for her roles as Vi on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Penny on Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog) today (November 24, 2008) announced via her personal blog that the show has been picked up by Microsoft.
Xbox Live’s Scott Nocas approached Felicia with what she describes as…
Sony Pictures Entertainment titles “not available on Xbox 360”
Like many of you, I have finally had the chance to check out the “New Xbox Experience” (NXE). It functions, looks nice, and even though it tries to throw advertisement after advertisement in my face. I don’t mind. That’s what it’s supposed to do.
But one of the biggest things I was most looking forward to most was the ability to stream my Netflix instant queue straight to my Xbox 360 without having to hook up my laptop every time I wanted to watch movies on my T.V. Unfortunately, it seems that Sony Pictures Entertainment is having a small licensing spat with Netflix over its (few hundred) titles being streamed on the rival console…
New Xbox Experience features Street Fighter II Turbo “branded destination”

It’s almost officially time to stop drooling and start throwing down folks. Capcom and Microsoft are double teaming fighting game fans with tomorrow’s official launch of the New Xbox Experience (NXE) and the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix “branded destination experience.“ The “branded” experience will be a part of NXE update launching on November 19, 2008. Players should be able to find it in the Live/Marketplace tab.
The “destination” will basically become a central hub for all things Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, including trailers, basic and premium themes, picture packs, etc. Interestingly, the premium themes will be featured in…
