Bananagrams to be Majesco’s Facebook debut
Majesco’s first Facebook game has been revealed - it will be working with Large Animal Games to bring Bananagrams to users of the social networking site. The game will be a free Facebook application on August 18, 2008, with additional features and upgrades added later. The official Bananagrams press release does not state if the game will only be open to US and Canadian users, like EA’s Scrabble.
Bananagrams, like EA’s Scrabble, is based on a previously existing board game and also involves using tiles to create words. However, Bananagrams is more of a free-for-all. A pile of tiles is created and each person is given tiles, and immediately every player goes to work creating words at the same time. The person who uses all of his tiles after the pile of tiles is gone is the winner.
Marker Man and Doodle Dog stop by E3
Majesco’s been revealing lots of solid information on its forthcoming games, and Marker Man isn’t being left out. The DS game is a physics based, drawing, puzzle game for the Nintendo DS that is scheduled to be released in time for the 2008 winter holidays. Don’t let the simplistic title and story fool you, Marker Man sounds challenging.
Marker Man follows the adventures of, you guessed it, Marker Man. His pet, Doodle Dog, has disappeared. So now players have to help Marker Man manage his way through 150 puzzles to find his lost dog. This is accomplished by drawing geometric shapes on the touch screen to help Marker Man reach the end of each level.
Majesco’s E3 2008 lineup
Majesco Entertainment Company has released its list of games and goodies it will show off at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (aka E3 2008).
Interestingly, all of the games are for either the Wii or the DS. (Also, note that the copanie’s NASDAQ symbol is “COOL.” I kid you not.). Games of note include Cooking Mama World Kitchen (Wii), Our House (Wii) and Babysitting Mania (DS).
And no, I don’t know what is in the grinder in the image above (*shudder*). Click through for the complete list…
We shall cook again in Cooking Mama World Kitchen
I was kind of hoping the following announcement wouldn’t come, but it has. Majesco and Cooking Mama Limited are crafting another entry in the Cooking Mama series - Cooking Mama World Kitchen for the Wii. This next entry will be a completely 3D cooking game, with all new recipes and mini-games mixed in.
Like in previous Cooking Mama games, Cooking Mama World Kitchen will involve selecting recipes, then attempting to cook them to perfection. New elements, aside from the 3D, include the ability to play as Mama in mini-games when she has to step in and save your recipe from failure. (The example in the press release involves Mama using her apron to catching a burger that was flipped too high and flew away.) Also the controls have been adjusted so that wiimote and nunchuk actions will feel more smooth and natural.
Play along with Major Minor
More information has been released about Majesco’s musical Wii title, Major Minor’s Majestic March. The game has been given a tentative late 2008 release date, and additional gameplay information and screen shots have been released onto the internet. Everyone knows it is a musical marching-band simulation, but now we finally know more about how it all comes together.
Majesco plants an Orchard
Majesco has already proven itself as a formidable casual game contender when it comes to console and handheld games, but now it is looking to make its mark on online PC games. The company’s first online casual game, an orchard running and pie making simulation called Orchard, has been officially announced and dated for a Q4, 2008 release.
In Orchard you raise and maintain an orchard filled with apples, blueberries, cherries, grapes, strawberries and more. Then, when it is time to harvest, you combine the different fruits to make pies, which you then enter in various contests for prizes and glory. Fans of Lemonade Tycoon may find a new favorite with Orchard.
Visit the portable Wonder World Amusement Park
Wii owners may be able to visit the Wonder World Amusement Park this summer, but DS owners shouldn’t feel too left out. A DS version of the game, also called Wonder World Amusement Park has been strategically timed for a winter holiday release. Like the Wii version of the game, the DS version is being created by casual game specialist Majesco Studios.
Wonder World Amusement Park DS looks like it will be extremely similar to the Wii title. Both will feature multiple mini-games, rides, prizes, customizable characters and a multiplayer mode. Basically, it is a mini-game collection. The DS doesn’t have a amusement park/carnival themed mini-game collection, so it should work out pretty well.
Gamertell Review: Toy Shop
Title: Toy Shop
Price: $19.99
System(s): Nintendo DS
Release Date: April, 29, 2008
Publisher (Developer): Majesco Games (Gameinvest)
ESRB Rating: “Everyone”
Pros: The business simulation works well. Making toys is fun. Once you really get into the game, it can be addicting.
Cons: It starts out slow. Hunting for toy plans from NPCs is a hassle. Graphics aren’t that good.
Overall Score: One thumb up, one down; 75/100; C; * * 1/2 out of 5
Toy Shop shouldn’t be overlooked. It probably will be, due to the childish concept, humble graphics and unassuming presentation. Most people will probably see it on a store shelf and assume it is shovelware. Instead, it is a fun store management sim that fans of Lemonade Tycoon or The Sims 2: Open for Business will enjoy.

Darling Rolling Rascals
I think this game just might make me diabetic.
I have never seen so much cuteness stem from one source before. Its more overwhelming than Cute Overload! There’s a new cute champ, and it’s the Majesco game Rolling Rascals, which should be available in July, 2008 for $19.99.
Rolling Rascals is a puzzle game set in the Kololo Kingdom, where all animals are adorably plump and spherical. The goal is to drop and roll animals into others from their species. Once animals are reunited with their brethren, they are cleared from the board. If you send all the puffballs back to their homes before time runs out, you conquer that level.
DS gets greener with Eco Creatures
A new ‘green’ Nintendo DS title is now available in stores, just in time for Earth Day. Eco Creatures is the latest title from Majesco, known best for Cooking Mama and a slew of brain training titles. This latest title doesn’t fall into either of their more popular series genre, as it is a real time strategic action game where players direct cute animals to save the Mana Woods. It is rated “E” and retails for $29.99.
