Sony’s Hirai says: “Games industry will be resilient towards economic pain”
Despite these rough economic times, Kaz Hirai, the president of Sony Computer Entertainment, made it clear to the Financial Times that the game industry will withstand and continue to show its strength.
However, he won’t throw gamers an economic bone as he also made clear in that interview that he has no plans to cut the price of the Playstation 3. In other words, it will remain the most expensive of the three consoles once the holiday season arrives…
Konami reveals its Fall, Winter 2008 line up
Konami is gearing up for the 2008 holiday season by releasing its list of upcoming games for every major platform.
To Konami’s credit, it has a wide variety of genres to choose from this winter. Most of them are music based titles such as Dance Dance Revolution titles, Karaoke Revolution, and its newest entry into the plastic instrument playing universe, Rock Revolution. Just try to find something in this list that doesn’t interest you. My guess is that would be a difficult task.

Tecmo’s Holiday 2008 game lineup
Even though Tecmo’s in somewhat dire straits, and may even become part of the Square Enix family, it still isn’t hesitating when it comes to games. The company has just issued a press release announcing its upcoming titles for the 2008 holiday season. It doesn’t have that many coming out, only four, but hopefully those four DS and Wii titles will do well this season.
The four upcoming games are as follows…
Konami’s E3 2008 lineup
On the heels of Disney revealing its lineup for E3 this year, Konami has unveiled its lineup for E3 2008. Konami’s lineup has something for everybody including music, dance, and sports titles to go along with the storied franchises of Castlevania and Silent Hill.
Highlighting Konami’s booth will be the hands on time people can spend playing Rock Revolution and the announcement that Castlevania will be making its next gen debut on the Wii.
Not all the games below are family-friendly but are still widely anticipated gamers young and old. Some of the more anticipated titles include, Castlevania: Judgement, Silent Hill: Homecoming and…
Midway presents its E3 2008 lineup
Midway Games, like most other considerate E3 attendees, has announced a list of games which it will be displaying at the event. It looks like, this year, Midway is going a somewhat safe route when it comes to games, as it will be showing off new installments in its popular Mortal Kombat, Unreal Tournament and Touchmaster series at the event.
The selection this year seems to reflect Midway’s desire to reach two, very different audiences. Games like Unreal Tournament 3 (Xbox 360), Wheelman (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) and Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe (PS3, Xbox 360) are being released for Midway’s faithful fans, while titles like Touchmaster 2 (DS) and Game Party 2 (Wii) are for casual players.
Without further ado, Midway Games’ official E3 games list taken directly from the press release…
SouthPeak Games has announced its E3 2008 lineup
SouthPeak Games has just unveiled which titles it will be displaying at E3 2008, and I have to say that there is quite a variety. The company will be occupying Booth 426 this year, and will be showing demo videos, have game demos for visitors to play and will have Shawn Smith, Ninjatown‘s creator, on hand to give a presentation about his upcoming DS game.
It looks like the company has a nice selection of games coming for all platforms, so there should be a lot to see at the convention. Ninjatown (DS), Brave: A Warrior’s Tale (Wii, Xbox 360, PSP) and Monster Madness: Grave Danger (PS3) are among some of the more popular, forthcoming titles.
So, straight from the official SouthPeak Games press release is it’s E3 2008 lineup…

Majesco’s E3 2008 lineup

Majesco Entertainment Company has released its list of games and goodies it will show off at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (aka E3 2008).
Interestingly, all of the games are for either the Wii or the DS. (Also, note that the copanie’s NASDAQ symbol is “COOL.“ I kid you not.). Games of note include Cooking Mama World Kitchen (Wii), Our House (Wii) and Babysitting Mania (DS).
And no, I don’t know what is in the grinder in the image above (*shudder*). Click through for the complete list…

It looks like 2008 is going to be the year SEGA fans start buying lots of cell phone games. In a recent press release, SEGA announced six new cell phone games, most based on existing SEGA properties, that will be released this year, starting with SEGA Columns Deluxe in May 2008 and ending with Crazy Taxi in December 2008. Prices and carrier availability have not yet been announced for any of the games.
