Dark Horse’s Comic Con 2008 signings, events schedule
In case you are one of the lucky 100,000+ people able to get into the Comic Con 2008 doors, you might want to head over to the Dark Horse Comics booth. The company that’s keeping Star Wars comics in print, as well as making Hellboy a household word, has a huge list of talent that will be signing stuff at the booth.
Dark Horse has declared Friday (July 25, 2008) “Star Wars Day,“ so there will be Star Wars comic talent there all afternoon. While all of the appearances are notable, the most recognizable names to the general public (many of whom will also be in panel discussions) include Mike Mignola, Joss Whedon, Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day and Bruce Campbell. Noe that some of the signings/appearances do require a paid ticket.
For those who like to wait in line, here’s a complete list (all times are in Pacific Time)...
Marvel’s Wolverine, Magneto getting their own movies
Coming to theaters near you in 2009, two of Marvel Comics best known and most popular mutants will be getting their very own movie spin-offs to the X-Men trilogy, they being Wolverine and Magneto.
While rumors of the two X-Men stars getting their very own origin stories have been humming around the web and your local comic book store for the past four years, it looks like both will be in theaters very soon with a Wolverine movie being released first…
Luke Goss joins cast for Tekken movie
Most game movies are dead even before they hit the theaters and the film adaptation of Tekken may meet that same fate. However, at least the first actor attached to the project, Luke Goss, seems perfect for the martial art-heavy action movie based one of the world’s most popular fighting games.
In his native England, Luke Goss was one of three members of a popular British pop group named Bros. After the band broke up, Goss turned his attention to acting. To American audience he is probably most known for the role of Nomak in the hit Marvel Comics and New Line Cinema film, Blade II, where Goss…
Movie cast lends voices to upcoming Hellboy game
Konami Digital Entertainment today (July 10, 2007) announced the voices behind characters in the game tentatively titled Hellboy The Science of Evil.
Ron Pearlman, Selma Blair and Doug Jones will be Hellboy, Liz Sherman and Abe Sapien, respectively, as they were in the 2004 movie. Director Guillermo del Toro will give creative guidance and Hellboy creator Mike Mingnola will be on hand to make sure the video game adaptation is faithful to the character.
In the game, players use Hellboy’s supernatural powers to overcome a Nazi scheme. The massive Right Hand of Doom is used to crush enemies and the game’s environment for rubble to use as weapons. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will allow cooperative online play.
Hellboy will be released Fall 2007 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PSP and is being developed by Krome Studios.
