Gamertell Review: Haze for the PS3

by Christopher Buckner on May 27, 2008 at 09:03 AM

hazeTitle: Haze
Price: $59.99
System(s): PlayStation 3
Publisher (Developer): Ubisoft (Free Radical)
Rating: “Mature” for blood, intense violence, strong language and use of drugs
Pros: Some nice features, good online play, interesting idea
Cons: Boring game play, terrible graphics and textures, poor AI, weak story, terrible supporting cast
Overall Score: One thumb sideways, one thumb down; 65/100; D;  * 1/2

Haze is one of those games that had a lot of buzz surrounding its pre-launch but without any real reason. From the start of the game, Haze is as run-of-the-mill as you could expect when it comes to first-person shooters.

Playstation Store Update for the week of April 3-9, 2008

by Richard Snyder on Apr 21, 2008 at 05:42 PM

gamertell gran turismo 5 prologue screen shotThe Playstation Store reopens with a bang and by “a bang,“ I mean a new layout and a $40 uberdemo, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue.  It’s pretty, I guess, though I’m more of an arcade racing freak and get more than my fair share of real-world physics from commuting.

On the good side, it really brings out the old-timer in me since it reminds so much of shareware except much more expensive.  Be sure to register, boys and girls.

For the rest, along with the usual Rock Band stuff, Warhawk is getting some expansive love.

Haze to be a PS3 exclusive

by Lucy Newman on Sep 2, 2007 at 01:15 PM

Haze is now exclusively for the PS3 consoleThe upcoming anticipated first-person shooter, Haze, is currently in development for the PlayStation 3 console with no signs of the game coming to the PC or Xbox 360 platform as announced earlier this Spring. The current release date is scheduled for November 19, 2007.

In May 2007, Ubisoft originally announced that, since the PS3 has become the “lead platform,“ the game will be released for the Sony system first. This would suggest that the PlayStation network is becoming more robust than the Xbox Live making the PS3 more flexible for the game. Although Ubisoft has yet to confirm if there will be any release dates for the PC and Xbox 360 it did mention in an interview with GameSpot that it may still be possible for the game to be released for other consoles in 2008.
