Apple has existed as a niche computer brand for a long time, while tasting amazing amounts of success with its forays into the MP3 player and cellphone markets. Now it might just be nurturing ambitions of expanding into other areas like video gaming. AIAS Awards: Call of Duty 4 wins game of the year
The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS), a non-profit organization that promotes entertainment software, held its 11th Annual Academy of Interactive Achievement Awards at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, NV, during this year’s D.I.C.E summit. Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4 took home the night’s top honors with four awards.
Other noteworthy winners were BioShock, which was acknowledged for its outstanding achievement in art direction, story development and sound design, and Motorstorm earning itself racing game of the year.

Nintendo’s survey either a sign of the end or time to revamp the GameBoy

Nintendo recently conducted a web poll concerning the GameBoy and, whether I fit some key demographic profile or it was a lucky pick of the draw, I happen to be selected to partake in the survey this weekend (January 20, 2008).
I was sent an email link to a survey site that was marked with the Nintendo logo and featured a few questions about handheld gaming in general, followed by five or six screens of questions specifically about the Nintendo GameBoy Advance SP, followed by several screens of DS Lite questions. Bascially, the tone of the survey pretty much pitted the GameBoy against the DS. (Note that at one point the survey indicated all references to “GameBoy” were meant to be “GameBoy Advance SP”).
