Apple App Store gaming update for the week of November 17-23, 2008
Welcome to the beta version of Gamertell’s weekly Apple App Store gaming update. Each week we will provide you the readers with a list of the newest games on the Apple service.
After spending a large part of my Sunday coordinating Thanksgiving plans and creating this list, I can safely tell you that if Apple wants to make any footprints in the gaming spectrum, they need to clean the App Store up. The recent update to the iPhone improved the App Store into the right direction but there is still more to do on it. There seems to be a recent trend in turning books into movies or video games. In an attempt to turn at least part of the trend back on itself, one writer is working books into games.

Video games may help fight obesity
Just when you thought the world was turning an evil eye towards video games, accusing it of converting children into violent thugs, rotting their brains and making them fat. Consoles like the Nintendo Wii have opened up a new way for the medical field to use the games to their advantage. With games being integrated into physical therapies that can not only improve a person’s hand-eye-coordination it may just help shed some pounds in childhood obesity.

As I wandered through the 2008 Scion Slam Basketball Tournament held August 23, 2008 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, I was amazed at all the cool schwag being handed out by the local Scion dealership. I’m simply in love with my backpack filled with CDs featuring the Backyard Bangers, MP3 cases, mini basketballs and different ways I can customize my own Scion in a glimpse.
But another part of the show is the Scion Slammer Car Show held the same day at Fort Bragg and featured many customized Scions. With sports fanatics watching the 2008 Beijing Olympics to cheer their favorite teams, gamers can partake in the games via the Beijing 2008 Olympics Video Game for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

Many game companies, analysts disappointed with E3 2008
Not many attendees were impressed with this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). During an interview held Thursday, (July 17, 2008) Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo’s senior managing director and general manager of entertainment analysis and the development division, told MSNBC that even though many fans of long running Nintendo franchise games such as Mario, Zelda or even StarFox were upset he felt that E3 was no longer a place for those types of game.

Nokia rolls out new N-Gage service
Nokia has rolled out the final version of the N-Gage service available on the N-Gage website. It can be downloaded using a PC or straight onto a compatible Nokia cellphone.
The handsets that are currently compatible with the N-Gage application include Nokia N81, Nokia N81 8GB, Nokia N82, Nokia N95, and Nokia N95 8GB. Nokia will continue to add more handsets to the list.
