Final farewell to Halloween 2008
Halloween 2008 is over. Hopefully, everyone had a good night, filled with some sort of spooky activity. But we don’t have to give up on the Halloween spirit so quickly, even though the month has changed and time keeps ticking away. We can still remember the good times that were had at this year’s event.
So, while you savor your hard earned candy, or the little tidbits left in the bowl because you over-estimated how many trick-or-treaters would come, take a glance back at the various Halloween stories Gamertell ran to prepare people for the holiday. In fact, many of the special Halloween events may still even be running, and you could have one last chance to take part…
EA might allow Spore to create more than virtual life forms
With today’s technology getting better each year, its no wonder that games like Spore developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts, can wow players and developers alike. In an article posted in the Rocky Mountain News, if EA so chooses, it could license out Spore technology to other interested developers as an “engine…“
Dream Cheeky’s USB Metal Game Pad is pure chrome-ish goodness
For you PC gamers who want to have a more console like gaming experience and use something that looks a little more hardcore than those usual plastic controllers, a Chinese gaming peripherals company has created a game pad wrapped in shiny, chrome looking plastic.
This device comes from USB goodies maker Dream Cheeky and I’m guessing that the company name is derived from some idea of having “cheeky dreams” (a stretch, I know). As far as the specs are concerned, the USB Metal Game Pad is supposedly compatible with both the Mac and PC…
Retro Space Arcade Cabinet, like, totally brings back the ‘80s
![]()
Ah, nothing makes me reminisce like stand-up arcade machines. A new company is bringing back the glory days of gaming with the Retro Space Arcade Cabinet complete with old game casings, old-school joysticks, buttons and even a trackball.
The Retro Space is packed with a computer that comes preloaded with 100 licensed arcade classics and several emulators. When not gaming (*gasp*) the cabinet can be used as a jukebox for a music collection and includes 1080p playback. As for the screen, it is a 24-incher with…
Gamertell Mashup: Our favorite E3 2008 announcements

Every E3 there are plenty of announcements and everyone claims their is the biggest, most important and whatevertheheck else. There were fewer hardware announcements than most years with more concentration on games, developing console interfaces and content options.
Not too surprisingly, most of the staff picks for their favorite E3 2008 announcements were somehow related to Microsoft’s Xbox 360. There was, of course, a sole dissenter.
Give it a read and then let us know what your favorite announcement was from E3 2008…

Terrorists use Bethesda game image, fool a few pros
In the global fight against terrorism numerous government and private organizations have kept their ears to the ground, trying to prevent the next 9/11. Now it seems that Bethesda Softworks, a Maryland based developer which created the Elders Scroll series, has unwillingly become part of terrorists’ war on the Western world.
No, Bethesda isn’t dropping the controller and mouse for AK47s and joining Al-Qaeda, but it seems that even the world’s most fearsome terrorist group is also a fan of Bethesda’s upcoming game, Fallout 3...
Beyond Good & Evil 2 teaser trailer
At Ubidays 2008 in Paris, Ubisoft released the first teaser trailer for the first sequel to the 2003 cult classic, Beyond Good & Evil. The trailer clearly shows that the game will be sporting some nice, new next-generation graphics. While it is unclear at this point if the trailer was rendered or used the game engine, it was still quite nice.
The teaser video, titled “I the Pig”, showcases BG&E’s two staring characters, Jade and her alien pig friend Pey’J, stranded on…
