Lucky Europeans get LocoRoco 2 Flash minigame

by Jenni Lada on Nov 16, 2008 at 08:22 PM

LocoRoco 2 Flash minigameIf you’re a LocoRoco fan, you don’t have to head to the PlayStation Store to sample a demo of LocoRoco 2‘s gameplay. Instead, you can visit Spil Games’ Games.co.uk site to play a Flash LocoRoco 2 minigame. It isn’t up for very long though. When LocoRoco 2 for the PSP comes out on November 21, 2008 in Europe, the Flash minigame will be removed from Spil Games’ site.

Its fairly simple to play. You use the left and right arrow keys on your computer to control the actions, like the shoulder buttons you use for the original LocoRoco and LocoRoco 2 games. There are six different levels to play, and the goal in each level is to make flowers bloom by rolling over a wilted flower with the proper color LocoRoco…

The slightly inappropriate Old Man Game demo drops

by Jenni Lada on Nov 11, 2008 at 12:18 PM

The Old Man Game Paul DavisPaul Davis, independent game developer, has just released a free PC demo of his sidescrolling action title The Old Man Game. It features a silly background story, incredibly detailed character sprites, seven levels to explore and a compact download (3.6mb). Did I mention it is free? Okay, good. It sounds a little like Metal Slug to me, since the old man has to save female hostages while also journeying through CORP LAB to take down Dr. Butt-head and his troops.

An interesting bit of background surrounds The Old Man Game. It was originally a GameBoy Advance homebrew demo. In fact, the official The Old Man Game site has a page devoted to the original GBA version of the game, and even has a download link in case people want to try playing it on an emulator…

dell selling nintendo wii and ds games
While in a scantastic mood, looking for holiday deals in various mailings, I noticed something rather curious in the November Dell catalog I received in the mail. It includes a page of video games. And not PC games.

Yes, Dell, the company known for making laptops, desktop computers, monitors, printers and PC accessories (at least,  that’s what the title bar of the company’s web site reads), has an entire page dedicated to Nintendo games…

by PJ Hruschak on Nov 9, 2008 at 04:29 PM

target 50 dolalr digital camera gift card
When I shop at Target, the first place I now look is the gift card rack.

After the Speed Racer USB thumb drive gift card and the three cool game console cards, can you really blame me? Snagging freebies in the form of fat, plastic cards is my idea of good time inexpensive collecting fun.

This year’s special holiday gift card at Target is a mini digital camera. Yep, a gift card that doubles as a pocket-sized digital camera. Unlike previous cool cards, this one ain’t free. It’s a $50 card, so you have to…

Gears of War 2

Now that the second Gears of War adventure has garnered stellar reviews, it is a foregone conclusion that gamers will do whatever is necessary to obtain a copy, if only so they can figure out who is the best player among them.
