Square-Enix swears Final Fantasy XIII multi-platform release not a betrayal
When Square-Enix announced at E3 that it would be releasing Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360, Playstation fans around the world were enraged. To them, it was the equivalent of being stabbed in the back by a loyal friend whom you thought would remain with you regardless of the circumstances.
However, according to Square-Enix Corporate Communications Director Shinji Hashimoto, betraying stalwart Playstation fans was not what the company had in mind.
Hashimoto attempted to assuage Playstation fans by reminding them that no version of Final Fantasy XIII would be considered more important than the other. Essentially, the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 games would…
Square Enix’s Fall, Winter 2008 Xbox 360 RPG round-up
While it must be admitted that Square Enix has not shown much love to the Xbox 360 by way of role-playing games aside from the MMORPG series Final Fantasy XI, Fall and Winter 2008 will bring a much needed end to the drought.
Click through for a look at the three RPGs coming from Square Enix this year: Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant and, of course, Final Fantasy XIII...
Final Fantasy XIII demo comes with Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete

It was obvious that Square Enix’s 2008 DKΣ3713 event would bring news concerning Final Fantasy XIII - the event even had a “13” in the title to refer to the compilation of titles. The company didn’t disappoint, and the event showed off trailers, gameplay footage and announced a demo release date.
The FFXIII demo will come with Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete when it is released on Blu-ray in March, 2009 in Japan. As The Washington Post points out, Japan and the US have the same Blu-ray disc region code and the PS3 isn’t region-locked. So importers could purchase the Japanese version Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete and play it. Trailers for FFVersusXIII and FFAgitoXIII will also be on the Blu-ray FFACC release.
FF Agito XIII will appear on PSPs

Final Fantasy XIII may be available on multiple platforms, but Final Fantasy Agito XIII will stick with Sony’s PSP. Square Enix’s 2008 DKΣ3713 event in Japan revealed that the third entry in the FFXIII compilation, which was at first rumored to be a cell phone exclusive, is now going to appear on the PSP.
FFAgitoXIII had a trailer appear at the event and some hints at game elements. Like FFVIII, it will be set at a school and feature 12 students as the main characters. It is rumored to be an action RPG with some online elements. Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete will come with a FFAgitoXIII trailer, as well as a FFVersusXIII trailer and a FFXIII demo.
