Cut/Scenes: A new Resident Evil
News broke this week that Resident Evil writer/director/producer extraordinaire Paul W.S. Anderson wouldn’t be opposed to making a fourth chapter in the film series. According to MTV’s Multiplayer blog, he’s been in talks with Sony about the possibility of making zombie magic happen yet again.
From the post:
“Right now, the hold up for Anderson is coming up with the right story. If that falls into place, another “Resident Evil” movie may be on the table.”

Cut/Scenes: Lame game movie night Part 2 - Chopsocky
The Lame Game movie nights continue, as our columnist prepares herself for a whole new world of pain – the martial arts videogame movie. In every Lame Game movie night we watch a double feature of similarly themed game movies that we love or love to hate, in order to gain a deeper appreciation of the genre. In this first installment of Cut/Scenes, Danielle Riendeau explores the ways in which Steven Spielberg’s film Saving Private Ryan was the genesis of the cinematic World War II shooter.
Check back each Thursday for a new Cut/Scenes column!

One film stands out for birthing an entire subgenre of games that emulate its style, content, and message: 1998 war epic Saving Private Ryan...
