Lost Mitten’s crafts and cases

by Jenni Lada on Jun 26, 2008 at 07:13 PM

Lost Mitten's coaster set and boxBeing a sucker for video game related crafts, I was delighted when I came across Lost Mitten’s Etsy store, which is populated with various nifty items with video game icons on them. Its a nice place to stop and browse, or pick up a trinket for a video game loving friend. Plus, since Lost Mitten has sold 949 items and received 100% positive feedback, you know you’re buying from someone you can trust.

My personal favorites are the perler bead items. Lost Mitten has created coasters with Super Mario, Pac Man, Earth Bound Sonic, Bomberman and Zelda characters depicted on them. They’re reasonable as well, with notepads starting at $7, coasters at $12 and boxes at $14.

Nintendo clay creations

by Jenni Lada on May 12, 2008 at 06:47 PM

Nintendo earrings by Gimmeswords
Gimmeswords has used her artistic talents to accomplish an amazing feat, she turns classic Nintendo icons into fashionable jewelry. Using polymer clay, she crafts adorable charms. Her Nintendo earrings (pictured above) were recently featured on Sprite Stitch.

Gimmeswords also runs a Etsy store filled with a variety of video game related jewelry. I couldn’t help admiring her Wiimote/Nunchuk earrings and goomba cell phone charm. She also has quite a few tabletop gaming charms as well, so every kind of gamer is covered.

Tonberry cross stitch

by Jenni Lada on May 12, 2008 at 02:41 PM

Tonberry KingTonberries are probably one of the more devious video game villains, and yet, at the same time, one of the most intriguing. They’re cute little lizard things who generally prefer to be left alone. If you decide you absolutely must terrorize them, then they’ll hurt you so bad your great-grandpa will feel it. If running is an option, they’ll let you go.

Final Fantasy games are some of my favorites, so I decided it was time for a cross stitch of one a character from one of those games. I headed to the Sprite Database and picked out a tonberry sprite from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and set to work.

Getting into video game cross-stitching

by Jenni Lada on Feb 9, 2008 at 09:05 PM

Doesn't Mario ever think his brother might want the girl?

A recent post on Kotaku displayed a stunning example of video game devotion in a cross-stitch. The above creation, “Luigi’s Revenge” by John at Sprite Stitch is really just too cool for words. The amazing thing is how simple it is to create an intricate and detailed creation such as this.

The first step is to find or create a pattern. The pattern you decide on will determine what kind of materials you will need to pick up. If you’ve never sewed before, you’ll want to go with a small pattern, perhaps something that can fit in a 20x20 square grid. You’ll also want to go with a very simple color scheme - pick a design which only has three or four different colors.

Auction Watch: Plushie pink Xbox 360 on Ebay

by Jenni Lada on Nov 25, 2007 at 10:27 PM

Is this Xbox 360 adorable or what?

The Xbox 360 normally isn’t the system that comes to mind when you think of a cute console, but a new listing on Ebay can changes all that. A very creative individual has put together a pink Xbox 360 plush toy. The item was just placed on Ebay today (November 25, 2007) and the auction will close December 2, 2007. The starting bid for the item is £35.00 British, or roughly $72 American.

Inkyfingersjunior, the seller, has 100% positive feedback over 92 transactions, so it is definitely a trustworthy seller. The item is in St. Helens in the UK, but the seller will ship worldwide. The seller only accepts paypal, so if you want to bid you better make yourself an account.

The Xbox 360 pink plushie is completely handmade and almost the same size as a real Xbox 360. It is made of fleece and cushion stuffing, and it took the artist 5 hours to create. This toy could be the perfect, one-of-a-kind gift for the Xbox fan in your household.

This has to be the cutest Xbox 360 I have ever seen. It is just the cutest thing. It could be a decoration or a pillow! This item will probably go fast, so better hurry and start bidding.
