Nintendo wants to see your pet. Not as your pet really is though, but as your pet could be. A big costume contest is being held in honor of Animal Crossing: City Folk from October 27 to November 16, 2008. All you have to do to enter is dress up your favorite pet and send the image off to Nintendo. (You can dress them up as Nintendo or Animal Crossing characters if you wish, but it isn’t mandatory.) The owners of the 50 winning pictures will receive a copy of Animal Crossing: City Folk with Wii Speak, a Wii and special information on Animal Crossing: City Folk.

An official website for the Welcome Waggin Committee contest is also scheduled to open. However, as of 11:37pm, October 27, 2008, the website address leads to a dead end. Namco Bandai has just announced a new contest for its We Cheer target audience. The company is teaming up with Claires accessory stores for the We Cheer Sweepstakes. From October 1-November 4, 2008, Claires customers will receive an entry slip. Or, you can visit the We Cheer site and enter online.

The five grand prizes in the sweepstakes are a copy of We Cheer and a Wii to play it on. One $50 Claires gift card and 10 $20 Claires gift cards will also be distributed. Not a bad way to promote a new game…

The days are getting colder as summer slips into fall. Good riddance! Everyone knows all the good holidays take place in the later half of the year, one of the best being Halloween. Once again, Atlus is going to be getting into the Halloween spirit with an Atlus-O-Weenie celebration. Like last year, the company is going to be holding a video game-themed costume contest with incredible prizes.

Atlus isn’t accepting costume contest submissions just yet. This year the company is developing an online photo submission page which will be up sometime in October, 2008. So for now, just prepare your costume of your favorite Atlus game character, because the company will be accepting pictures from October 1-31, 2008.
