Bethesda unveils Fallout 3 DLC, content editor

Fallout 3 is nothing if not expansive, but even it can’t last forever. What, then, can you do if you’ve had your way with the main game, but are still in the mood for more post-apocalyptic action? Well, by early 2009 you’ll not only be able to explore the game’s first official downloadable content (DLC), but you’ll even be able to create your own.
On the official side of things, Bethesda Softworks will be releasing three DLC packs for both the Xbox 360 and Game for Windows versions of Fallout 3, starting in January 2009 with Operation: Anchorage — a military simulation of the liberation of Anchorage, a key battle in the Fallout universe.
The Pitt, which features an industrial raider town just waiting to be explored, and Broken Steel , a Brotherhood of Steel adventure that continues where the main game’s quest finished, will follow…
Fallout 3 ships 4.7 million, nets $300 million in first week sales

Get ready for some mighty impressive numbers - Bethesda’s epic apocalyptic RPG Fallout 3 has shipped 4.7 million copies and made a cool $300 million in sales in its very first week. Bolstered by strong reviews, a respectable pedigree (Bethesda was behind the excellent Elder Scrolls games), and seriously cool open-ended gameplay, the game is a remarkable success for an ambitious, relatively hardcore RPG.
Fallout 3 has gone gold

After spending more than four years in development, Bethesda Softworks announced that Fallout 3 — the highly anticipated third installment in the post-apocalyptic Fallout role-playing series — has achieved gold master status.
Not content to simply confirm the game’s readiness for its impending launch (October 28, 2008, in North America, October 30, 2008, in Europe and Australia, and October 31, 2008, in the UK), Bethesda has also released the minimum and recommended system requirements for the Windows version of Fallout 3, which will launch alongside the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions…
Fallout 3 available October 28, 2008

Get your radiation meds ready. Bethesda has announced the official release date for the hotly anticipated Fallout 3 - October 28, 2008. European gamers will be able to traverse the game’s barren, nuclear-scarred terrain on October 31st (just in time for Halloween!).
Repricing of select Greatest Hits PS3 games starts this week
At E3 2008 Jack Trenton announced a line up of Playstation 3 titles that would be getting special treatment and goes into effect this week (July 28, 2008). Select titles have been relaunched at lower price points across the United States with nine titles now costing $29.99 each.
Most of these games are actually very good and well worth their price. Warhawk is even supposed to get trophy support in the future. In case you forget which games have been discounted, Sony has placed them in distinctly colored cases. They have red borders around them so they stand out really well.

Fallout 3 will see simultaneous PC, XBox 360, PS3 release
![]()
Yesterday (February 18, 2008), Fallout 3‘s executive producer, Todd Howard, assured both Joystiq and anxious Playstation 3 owners that the PC, XBox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will all ship at exactly the same time. Bethesda’s previous RPG, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, debuted simultaneously only for the PC and 360 in March 2006, leaving PS3 owners to wait an entire year for their port to hit stores. Fallout 3 is due to hit the three platforms Q3 2008.
Since starting up development on the latest chapter of the celebrated RPG series, Bethesda has needed to…
Star Trek: Conquest announced for the Wii and PS2

Bethesda Softworks announced a new strategy/action title based in the Star Trek universe: Star Trek: Conquest for the WII and PS2, set for release this holiday season. Players will be able to control Federation, Klingon, Cardassian, Dominion, and Breen forces through a campaign to “control the galaxy,“ as the release so boldly declares, “one planet at a time.“
Gameplay will include classic RTS elements, such as building an empire, managing resources, etc. as well as real-time action. As soon as battle is initiated, the engine turns to pure, real-time combat, making use of the Wii-mote to take aim and fire away at all the space baddies.
The game will be set in the Star Trek: The Next Generation era, though no mention was made of that particular series’ badass villains, the Borg. Trek fans will be able to bust out with the photon torpedoes in time for the holidays, with the Wii version running for $29.99 and the PS2 incarnation selling for $19.99.

Liam Neeson lends voice to Fallout 3
In a move that further testifies to the bond that movies and video games are starting to share, Bethesda has cast Liam Neeson in its upcoming title Fallout 3. Bethesda has made such a move before, in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, it cast Patrick Stewart as the ultimately doomed King of Cyrodiil.
In Fallout 3, Liam Neeson will take a much more popular and long-lived role as the main character’s father and the company stated the following to support his impact in the game:
This role was written with Liam in mind and provides the dramatic tone for the entire game.
E3 2007: Oh, the many email invitations we receive

Journalists who are lucky enough to be on the list for this year’s thinner, redesigned and refocused E3, have been receiving a slew of email announcements, press releases, phone calls and invitations.
In no particular order and purely for your voyeuristic enjoyment, I offer images of a few of the many colorful invites I have received this year. I’ve only included the prettier, colorful invites from companies that bothered to send something more than a simple text email. The contact information has been intentionally blurred out (so don’t try to crash).
