Lego Batman Happy Meal toys promote cheating in videogames

gamertell lego batman mcdonalds happy meal toy code locationFor those of you who indulge in the delicacies of fatty snacks that come in a colorful box and an accompanying toy, the recent McDonald’s Happy Meals are promoting Lego Batman and a game code has been stamped on the bottom of each toy.

There are eight toys in the set including four vehicles and four characters. Each game code unlocks playable characters so you don’t have to wait until later in the game to cash in precious and readily available Lego pegs for the same character.

I don’t usually do this but, since GoNintendo has already started the sharing, I’ll offer up two more codes…

If you are a Batman fan, loved The Dark Knight movie and cannot wait to play the movie-based videogame, well, you pretty much have to keep waiting waiting. But, if you can settle for an online Flash game based on the movie, Comcast has posted Gotham City Street Chase for you to play.

Gamertell Review: The Dark Knight the movie

by PJ Hruschak on Jul 17, 2008 at 11:01 PM

Title: The Dark Knight (aka Batman: The Dark Knight, Batman Begins 2, The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience)
Release Date: July 18, 2008
Company: Warner Bros.
Rating: PG-13
Length: 142 min (2 hours, 22 minutes)
Pros: A lot of great acting, a well-woven story and plenty of psychological creepiness. The more realistic Gotham City is a well-executed contrast to the inner darkness of the characters.
Cons: A little long and a bit too creepy for kids. Only one moment of unbelievability.
Overall Score: Two thumbs up; 93/100; A-; * * * * out of five.

Put away your illusions that this is a big-screen adaptation of Frank Miller’s graphic Novel, The Dark Night Returns. While there is a tiny nod or two to the book, this is continuation of the Batman Begins film with a new origin of at least one DC Comics character and a more realistic, visually brighter yet thematically darker take on Batman.

gamertell the dark knight poster batpod bat podI attended an advance screening of the IMAX version of The Dark Night this evening. While I cannot give you a full review yet, here’s what I can tell you about Warner Bros. latest Batman flick without any major spoilers:

  • Gotham City is pretty much modern New York City. No plasticky looking buildings or the gritty, gothic look of the previous films.
  • The mood is likewise. More realistic and less cartoony or overly themed.
  • At least one main character…

gamertell batman the dark knight bat pod kings island cincinnati ohio I headed over to Kings Island Amusement Park near Cincinnati, OH (USA), to get an up-close look at the Bat Pod to be featured in the upcoming The Dark Knight film (July 18, 2008). Check out the photo gallery below.

The Bat Pod was on display right inside the park’s main entrance near the water fountain and sectioned off with a few strings. You could get within an inch or two of the gun turrets…
