Xfire forecast for June 2008: Plenty of Blizzard

by Lucy Newman on Jun 7, 2008 at 11:33 AM

Xfire offers blizzard themed events in June As the scalding heat blows across the east coast, Xfire predicts cooler weather for June 2008 due to three events with Blizzard’s World of Warcraft professionals, gamers and worldwide invitationals in Paris.

  • Team Millenium - Beginning June 11, 2008, Xfire invites the gaming community and Xfire users to join World of Warcraft Arena professional team Millenium, a French professional ESports team, for the latest installment of Xfire Academy. During the session WoW gamers will get a chance to chat with the team starting at 7 p.m. central European summer time and receive tips and tricks from the pros to improve their WoW experience. Millenium is one of the oldest European Alliance guilds in the World of Warcraft with team leader and founder Cedrix being the first European Alliance player to reach the highest level during WoW‘s beta stage - Level 60 in the WoW world of Azeroth in 2004. Following Cedrix is Gawell who reached level 70. The team ranked fourth in 2007 during the European final of the WoW worldwide 5vs5 Arena tournament. This year, the team has ranked in the top 10 for European Tournament Realms.
  • Sunwell Raid Redux - Since the first broadcast was a hit, on June 25, Xfire will broadcast the Sunwell Plateau Raid again with an improved video experience called Enter the Plateau 2.0 with the help of Dyyno. Xfire recommends that if anyone wishes to view this event must register now since space is limited and proper downloads may be necessary to watch the broadcast. Moderated Xfire chat rooms will be available for viewers to discuss the raid.
  • Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in Paris - From June 28, 2008, through June 29, 2008, Xfire will offer live coverage from the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational. The event itself may be sold out but fans can still follow the games via Xfire from the opening ceremonies, meeting the developers and exclusive videos and photos of the events from the comfort of their homes. News and updates about the coming event is already available on Xfire and registrations for the live chat rooms.

To participate in any of the events, registration is required and can be done online on Xfire’s website.
