Are you an Xbox 360 owner looking for a sneak peak at the upcoming eighth installment in the Tomb Raider series? If so, you need look no further than the Xbox Live Marketplace, which, as of yesterday (October 28, 2008), is now hosting a free downloadable demo of Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider: Underworld.
According to a press release issued by Eidos Interactive, the demo, available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish flavors and weighing in at 1.27GB , offers players the chance to explore a portion of the full game’s second destination, the western coast of Thailand, complete with “crumbling ruins, steep coastal cliffs” and a selection of “state-of-the-art gear.”
As for the game itself, Underworld is currently slated to launch across North America on November 18, 2008 and across Europe on November 21, 2008. In addition to the Xbox 360 version: PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, Wii, and PC versions will also be available simultaneously.
Those looking for a PC version of the described demo will have to wait until this Friday (October 31, 2008). As for downloadable content, in the form of additional single player chapters exclusively for Xbox 360 owners, that will be arriving via Xbox Live “starting this holiday,” according to the aforementioned press release.
