Microsoft is offering a new bundle for people who haven’t already taken the plunge and bought a Xbox 360 . Available in May 2009, the Xbox 360 Game of the Year bundle will be hitting retail shelves in North America.
The bundle will include a Xbox 360 Elite console, Halo 3 and Fable II for $399.99. The standard retail price for an Elite console alone is currently US$399.99, Halo 3 sells for $39.99 and Fable 2 still has a $59.99 price point (that’s about $100 in savings).
The Xbox 360 Elite is the beefiest of all Xbox 360 consoles. It comes with a 120GB hard drive, HDMI cable, a black wireless controller, a black Xbox Live headset and a one month Xbox Live Gold membership. Even though it may not be on the box, Microsoft has every Xbox 360 console under a three-year warranty in case it suffers from a hardware failure such as the red ring of death or the E74 error. All shipping and repairs will be paid for by Microsoft and anyone who payed Microsoft in the past to fix these hardware failures will be fully reimbursed.
Halo 3 and Fable II are still being supported by developers to this date. The “Mythic Map Pack” for Halo 3 was released in early April and Fable II has already had one downloadable episode called “Knothole Island” and “See the Future” is due in May 2009.
