World of Warcraft: More than 11.5 million served
World of Warcraft has reached another milestone thanks, in part, to the success of Wrath of the Lich King. Over 11.5 million people paying to play World of Warcraft - isn’t that kind of crazy? Amazing.
Blizzard announced this huge figure today, and also gave credit to the expansion for helping to give a little extra boost to the MMORPG’s success. After all, over 4 million copies of Wrath of the Lich King were sold. The expansion probably helped to not only attract new fans, but even lure in old players who had previously kicked the habit.
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King costs $39.99 (unless you manage to find it on sale somewhere this holiday season). Of course you’ll also need the original World of Warcraft, available alone for $19.99 or in the World of Warcraft Battlechest for $39.99 (again, you may want to look for a sale). You could also try out 10 day free trials of World of Warcraft, Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King by visiting the official World of Warcraft site. It’s for both Mac and PC users, so no one will be left out.
