Agetec has announced that it will be releasing a new multiplayer title for the Nintendo DS in May 2008 known as LOL. Based on Agetec’s official press release, it sounds a bit like PictoChat and Ping Pals, except Ping Pals did offer limited single player functions and PictoChat is free.
It seems as though LOL is intended to be a bit like Pictionary. One player issues a challenge and sets a deadline, and everyone else has to offer solutions by drawing on their touch screens. After the player issuing the challenge tells the answer, all players vote on a winner to issue the next challenge.
I don’t see this working. I’m sorry, I just don’t. If, for some reason, I did have the desire to play a game like LOL, then I might as well set the stopwatch function on my watch and play it through PictoChat with friends. Perhaps there could be a sequel titled LOL: Epic Fail. Now that I would buy. They could have optional LOLcats pictures in it.
