Upcoming game Wheelman seems like a take off of the Driver franchise with a couple of original additions.

Action star Vin Diesel playing (voicing) Milo Burik, an undercover agent and highly skilled driver. His job is to gain the trust of the Barcelona crime syndicate that seems to be behind covert heist. Posing as a mercenary driver, he will get caught up in the crossfire between cops, corrupt cops, overly opportunistic gang members and rival gangs. Some of the interesting things are the features.

First is Diesel. Both his voice and his likeness will be used to bring the Burik to life, if he succeeds, that is. Backing up Vin Diesel to help Midway make the game look like a movie is Tigon Studios. The chases are inspired by some of Hollywood’s most famous action sequences. Hopefully some inspired by the occasionally overly intricate chases in the Bourne trilogy of films will exist. Due to the inspiration from Hollywood’s most famous chases, it will apparently deliver powerful cinematic moments to back up a compelling storyline.

There will be different supermove stunts like a “Cyclone,“ doing a 360 with precision firing at enemies. You can also do “Air Jacks” by jumping from one moving car to another to get a new car. Among other than that you can do, there other options. To get aggressors off your back you can sideswipe them into different objects, execute devastating maneuvers or grab your gun and fire at will or Jim if that’s the name of one of the people in pursuit. You will also have maximum mobility being able to drive anywhere in Barcelona as well as being able to commandeer any vehicle you’re able to get your hands on to make you a getaway.

Since the game is a Driver/GTA meld you would need to get out of your car sooner or later so you can take to the streets on foot. However, whether you’re on-foot or in-car you will have to deal with a living, breathing, densely populated city.

Sometime this fall, Wheelman will be shipped to stores. The platforms it will be available for, unless alternate ports are arranged for at a later time, are the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The rating is still pending but the expected rating will be T.
