Depending on which version you choose, Whack the Dead may even be free. The iPhone and iPod Touch version of the game (available through the iTunes App Store) costs $2.99. The Mac and Windows versions, however, are available as free downloads through the I Play Phone Games site. Its a good marketing idea - test the game for free, and if people like it, they’ll buy it.
I decided to give Whack the Dead a quick test run. Its a neat little novelty. I mean, you can’t expect greatness from a “Whack-a-Mole” clone with zombies as the antagonists, but it’s a fun diversion for the Halloween season. If you’re tired of playing Minesweeper or Solitaire on your computer, its a nice, free alternative.
