The medieval action role playing game Mount & Blade just got a lot more affordable. Steam is selling the game at a 75% discount that brings the price down to $7.50 for this weekend only (January 24-25, 2009). The normal price for Mount & Blade is listed as $29.99.

Mount & Blade is the kind of game that has you customize your character and set out to complete quests. It has a very robust skill leveling up system and some of the most unique combat ever seen in a game such as this.

By looking at screenshots and gameplay trailers you may think that Mount & Blade looks like a very old game despite being released in 2008. The visuals aren’t pretty by today’s standards but that’s where the modding community comes in. Mount & Blade has a very dedicated modding community backing it up. There are mods that improve the graphics and change scenarios altogether. A simple free download can turn this simple medieval adventure into a Star Wars inspired light saber brawler.

For less than $10 Mount & Blade is a great deal considering the large amount of modifications the community has created.
