Wal-Mart Black Friday videogame sales
Wal-Mart is offering up a number of great deals for gamers who are brave enough to face the crowds this Friday, November 22, 2007. Not only are there sales which encompass both Friday and Saturday, but each day there will be a special sale from 5am -11am. The official Wal-Mart Holiday site lists the special in-store secret sales which are only available for a certain number of hours on Friday and Saturday, and major newspapers today are packing the Wal-Mart Black Friday paper ad.
So far there have been two super secret in-store specials announced for Friday. These specific sales will only run from 5 am-11 am. Each console option except for Xbox 360 Elite will come with a $50 gift card. The Xbox 360 Arcade and Xbox 360 Core bundles will each be $279.92, the Xbox 360 Pro bundle $349.92 and the Xbox 360 Pro - Halo bundle will be $399.92. The ad specifies that the gift card will be good for a future purchase and that there is a minimum of 1 of each item per store. The other ‘super’ deal is a number of new console games reduced to $19.88. The games included in this sale are Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World’s End for the PS2, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360, Tony Hawk: Downhill Jam for the PS2 and Wii, Tony Hawk: Project 8 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance for the Wii, Xbox and Xbox 360. The online ad also states each store will have at least one copy of the games listed, but not all of the titles will be available in every store.
There are also two sales which will be running all day Friday. A slim Playstation 2 bundle will be on sale for $129. The bundle will include two controllers, one with a rumble feature and one without, and a copy of ATV 4. Five recent PS2 sports game from EA will also be reduced to $19.88. The five titles which should be available in most Wal-Mart stores are Madden ‘08, Nascar ‘08, NBA ‘08, NCAA ‘08, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour ‘08.
Of course there are also some sales which will run from Friday to Saturday. The Xbox 360 Arcade bundle will be $279.92 both days, and comes with five bonus arcade games. The Rock Band special edition bundles for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will be $169.92. For those who don’t know, the special edition bundle comes with the drum kit, microphone, guitar controller, and a copy of the game. PS2 music fans can find the Guitar Hero & Guitar Hero II Dual Pack for the PS2 for $39.82 and a wireless guitar controller for $29.87. The other sale applies to the brand new Nintendo DS lite bundles. Both the metallic rose Nintendogs: Best Friends bundle and the gold Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass bundles will be $149.87.
The secret in store deals which will be available Saturday from 5am - 11pm have not yet been announced. The Wal-Mart Holiday site will be updated tomorrow with all the special deals revealed. At the moment the only item revealed is a $25 robotic dragonfly toy. Wal-Mart will have over 200 items on sale from all departments for their Black Friday sale.
A good thing to remember about Wal-Mart is that their online store offers a ‘ship to store’ option. This means that, for free, the item you buy will be shipped to a store near you and you can go and pick it up. Its a handy feature which eliminates worries about the item being damaged during shipping or an additional shipping charge.
