A whole new generation of sports gamers is about to experience the nirvana of an NBA Jam game, and EA is allowing fans to vote on which players should make 3-man rosters.
To have your say, head on over to EA’s NBA Jam site and let your voice be heard. If you don’t vote, you have no right to complain when your favorite player doesn’t make the cut.
The new incarnation is slated for the Nintendo Wii in 2010 and EA has said it will mix classic game elements with new innovations for a unique Wii experience. EA is allowing fans to vote on the rosters of three teams each week and the election is in its second week. You can read EA Sports’ team blogs to find out which way staff is leaning on rosters and their rationale for doing so.
NBA Jam’s arcade style take on basketball earned it legendary status back in the ‘90s. The game became so popular that NBA stars including Shaquille O’ Neal had an arcade machine they transported from city to city on road trips.
I hope EA is bringing back the original announcer, as his signature “BOOM-SHAKA-LAKA” is as much a part of the game as the rim-rocking slam dunks.
