Verizon phones owners can be guitar heroes

This is the face of mobile Guitar Hero III

Verizon Wireless cell owners can now rock out while on the go, thanks to the December 20, 2007 release of the Guitar Hero III Mobile game. The Hands-On Mobile and Activision game is available only through Verizon. A phone which can access Verizon’s Get It Now store and uses Verizon’s digital service is capable of running the game. If you can and want to buy it, I’d recommend splurging on the $11.99 unlimited use option, rather than $4.49 monthly use one.

Guitar Hero III Mobile is surprisingly full for a stripped down, mobile incarnation. It has 15 songs to play, four different guitars to use and three different environments to play in. Additional song packs are said to be arriving each month, but it has not been announced how many songs will be in each or if there will be an additional charge for them.

Guitar Hero III Mobile looks very similar to Phase, for the iPod. Phase may be a better mobile game buy, if you’re looking, as it potentially has a much larger library and similar gameplay, for only $4.99.
