Upcoming Star Wars: The Clone Wars games to be Wii, DS exclusives
LucasArts recently announced two Star Wars: The Clone Wars titles that will be exclusively available for the Nintendo Wii and DS this holiday season just in time for the upcoming CG-animated feature, brand-new movie and weekly television series.
LucasArts and Krome Studios plans to immerse players into the world of Clone Wars with familiar characters from the animated series mixed with 3D CGI technology to create a whole new interactive world.
The first game to be released (no exact date announced) this holiday is Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels for the Nintendo Wii and DS platforms and rated T for Teen for fantasy violence. Despite the name, it is not a simulation game. According to LucasArts Studio’s news summary, the duels are set between Star Wars: Episode II and III. Players will control Anakin Skywalker’s new padawan, Ahsoka Tano, a mysterious young Togruta assigned to Anakin by Yoda.
By using your Wii Remote like a lightsaber you can help Ahsoka become a Jedi.
The second game on the list is Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance exclusively for the Nintendo DS platform. The ESRB rating is currently pending as is the exact release date. But from what I can figure out, you play through the original Clone Wars story using a Jedi you create by pairing a master with a padawan and helping them bond to create special abilities and strengthen attacks. Players will be able to control their Jedi with the DS Stylus including lightsaber combat.
