After a year of speculation and doubts as to whether or not the latest installment in the popular Unreal Tournament series was going to come to the Xbox 360, Epic Games has finally confirmed that Unreal Tournament III is coming out for the Xbox 360.

Already out for the PC and Playstation 3, there was a lot of doubt that Unreal Tournament III would ever be released for the Xbox 360. A few programming delays jeopardized the console release of UTIII on the Playstation 3 (which barely made its Q4 2008 release), hinting that the PC hungry game might never see the light of day on the 360. But with this problem seemingly solved, both Midway and Epic have confirmed that Unreal Tournament III will get a Third Quarter 2008 Xbox release.

The Xbox 360 version of Unreal Tournament III will have all the features and maps that are already featured in the PC and PS3 versions of the game and will also get three entirely new maps, two revamped maps and three all new characters to be played on Xbox Live. All of the other great multiplayer fun will still be included in the 360 version of the game, including deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture-the-flag and a few new surprises.
