An interesting tidbit is that LucasArts is only acting as the developer and publisher for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Krome Studios is developing the PS2, PSP and Wii versions and n-Space is developing the DS version. This could mean that certain versions of The Force Unleashed will be better than others.
The storyline is fairly interesting, as it occurs within the movie time line but also is fairly original. The player acts as Darth Vader’s secret sidekick/student. You assist Darth Vader as he takes over the universe in the space of time between Episode III: Return of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope. If it possesses the kind of open environments found in Grand Theft Auto or the story options from Mass Effect, it could be quite interesting. The official press release does state that the player will make decisions that will effect the storyline, so let’s hope it works out well.
I’m not a Star Wars fan. In fact, I’ve never even seen a single Star Wars movie. However Star Wars: The Force Unleashed looks like it could be a promising new game. I mean, I’ve heard of Darth Vader (of course), and who wouldn’t find it cool and interesting to be acting as his apprentice, unleashing evil? It just sounds awesome.
