A couple weeks ago we learned that Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune would be among already released games that will be patched for trophy support on the PS3. Naughty Dog’s senior manager of marketing communications, Arne Meyer, spoke with IGN about the trophies we can expect from the forthcoming patch.
It seems that Naughty Dog did not create all new accomplishments that translate into trophies. If you’ve played Uncharted before, you may have noticed the medals achievement system that was built into the game. The trophies will be identical to those medals. There will be 47 trophies to collect which will range from bronze to gold depending on their respective difficulties. If you manage to earn all 47 trophies you’ll be handsomely rewarded with the coveted platinum trophy.
Most of the medals require the same goal. For example one medal can be unlocked by finding your first treasure item. Another medal is unlocked if you find four more. From there a new medal is unlocked in intervals of five all the up to 60. The rest require a certain amount of head shots in a row, or finishing enemies using brutal combos. Some medals can only be unlocked during a specific scripted event so knowing what those are ahead of time can insure a maximum trophy count in one playthrough.
By the way these trophies are not retroactive. You have to play through it from the beginning again to reap the rewards. But hey, Uncharted is a great game worthy of subsequent playthroughs. The patch will be released in few weeks. Until then take a gander at the trophy requirements listed below.
