Thrustmaster’s Dual Trigger Gun NW a revolutionary Wii gun frame

by Mark Rollins on Aug 27, 2008 at 08:31 AM

Thrustmaster Dual Trigger Gun
Some of you might remember a few weeks ago when I covered the ezShot from ezGear,  a lightweight gun frame designed for the WiiMote that I didn’t recommend. Now for something a bit more positive: The Dual Trigger Gun NW by Thrustmaster is a step in the right direction for Wii gun frames.

The Dual Trigger Gun is exactly what the name implies - a gun frame with two triggers.  The good news is that one trigger is for the “B” trigger button on the WiiMote and the other trigger is for the “A” button on top.

Like most Wii gun frames, you slip the WiiMote into the gun shaped shell. According to the product description on the product site, one trigger is for used shooting and the other one is for reloading or a “special weapon”  (they’re obviously playing different Wii games than the ones that I play).

There are also two types of gun positions available: the Arcade Gun position, which works only with the Wiimote; and the Machine Gun position with the Nunchuk attachment on the side.  Considering that most of these gun frames forget to incorporate the Nunchuk, it’s nice that Thrustmaster includes a (removable, even) option for it on their frame.

The Dual Trigger Gun NW will be available at the end of September 2008 for $17.99.  You can also get the T-Wireless Precision Pack NW that includes a wireless vibrating gamepad along with the gun frame for $39.99.
