The Xbox 360 won’t be the only one with Alone in the Dark

Originally, Alone in the Dark was scheduled to only be released for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Atari and Hydravision have taken pity on other console owners, announcing that the horror action game Alone in the Dark will also be on the Wii and PS2.

Hydravision has worked hard to try as best as possible to create phenomenal game experiences for the two additional systems that rival the ones for Xbox 360 and PS3 owners. In addition the control system has been completely reworked and adapted for the Wii. Alone in the Dark has a Q3 2007 release date according to Atari, but Gamefaqs has all the upcoming versions listed as TBA (which is no surprise given Atari’s recent troubles).

All the game will feature the same story written by Eden Games and scripted by Lorenzo Carcaterra. Edward Carnby is alone in an “apocalyptic night” in New York. He must figure out the truth behind a secret hidden within Central Park. Plenty of dramatic moments are promised in the newest entry.

Of course this decision makes perfect sense. It boggles the mind that Atari and Hydravision wouldn’t want to do everything in their power to try and release a game on two of the most popular game consoles in existence. No offense to Xbox 360 or PS3 owners, but they are a lot more homes with PS2s and Wiis out there.
